Sad to see Konopka go.

Love the guys character. Seriously, I usually have a bias towards skill but this guy won me over with his leadership qualities.

Ugh, in basking in how great Murray and his team are at amateur scouting and drafting are, I completely forgot just how bad they are at pro scouting and trades

Guillaume Latendresse is in Ottawa for a medical. If he pass it, he'll play with the Senators next season.

If Lats is healthy, I think it's a very solid signing.

Can't help but think we already have guys in our system who could bring what this guy does, but I really don't know anything about him.

Depht players shoudl have done something?

The guy is just an insurance policy, brings versitality and a bit of experience. Can play the PK well. Makes only 1.15$ (who cares except Melnyk?) for ONLY 1 year

I think he's here to replace the Lee/Gilroy's spot

Karlsson
Gonchar
Cowen
Phillips
Lundin
Borowiecki

Still a top-4 spot to fill

Have you even see him play?

You're saying Lundin sucks balls, but you're also talking about Matt Carkner... They are both marginal NHL players, wtf are you smoking dude?

Not really, it all depends on team needs, i dont believe Ottawa was going to bring back Lee and Tampa wasn't going to bring back Gilroy. Its a swap that worked out for Tampa. They felt what they saw from Lee is something they could use but Ottawa didn't feel that way about him.

Good trades come easy to teams with assets.

A healthy Latendresse provides more grit than Parenteau would. With Carkner and Konopka gone that's important.

Lats would be a good signing. Could be had cheap and short term. No real risk.

Anyone else listen to Konopka's interview on TSN?
I'm either reading between the lines too much or his signing was one of two things:
1. purely for the money
2. there's something funny going on behind closed doors in Ottawa and he wanted out.

He really didn't talk up Ottawa when given the chance by the panel.

How much you wanna pay this guy? He's already turned down 1.8 per year from the Rangers. Wants closer to 2.5 apparently.
