Toronto didn't want you cause you suck. He better step it up.

If he stays healthy, this is wonderful.

1 million, not that much of a risk since it's only for 1 year. Decent depth move, he's going to bring some grit.

You know you have to suck balls when Toronto of all teams buy your contract out

If he shakes the injury bug from the Leafs days its a great deal. We need a fourth line RW with some aggresiveness, this is a solid move. Love the fact that he was a Habs fan.

Toronto didn't want you because you were injured and overpaid at $3 million.

1 year, 1 million. Low risk.

Leafs fan here, if Armstrong can stay healthy you got a great deal. Last preseason before all of the injuries he looked really good.

Decent 4th liner. Not sure he can stay healthy. He's got the tag of being a Leafs-reject though...we have one in Kaberle already.

How can anyone not love this deal? Real good buy low gamble for the Habs.

Saw it coming a mile away with the Dudley/Therrien connection there. They are obviously fans of his, I'm a fan of his game too. He plays hard/dirty and I like that.

If he shows up in shape and healthy, we are getting a real solid 3rd/4th line guy at a bargain!

Excellent signing for the 4th line. Habs won't make the same mistake and hope he is the salvation to the 2nd line scoring problems, as the Leafs did. Plus, 1 year at $1 million is fantastic.

Nice signing. If he can get back to form it's a steal and if not, it is just for one year.

Not bad, Armstrong is actually pretty good if healthy, if not the contract is easy to swallow.

1 million, 1 year, known quantity for Therrien, and shows others UFAs that a player that played with Therrien before has no problems going back in there - for those with whom he had maybe somewhat of a bad rep.

That's the kind of risks that can pay.

Good signing!

It's a no risk move. Worse comes to worse, a young player bumps him down to the waiver wire.

Agreed. Brings a lot of grit to our bottom 6 if he stays healthy. If we sign Prust, we have a pretty solid bottom 6 with eller, moen, white, colby and (fingers crossed) Prust.

Perfect bottom six player for us... as opposed to the Darche mold of just "being there", Armstrong will make us tougher to play against if healthy.

He really does struggle to skate and has terrible balance. I think he is a great guy and wish him the best.

Hard worker, good character guy on a cheap deal who can put up a few points. Don't really mind this signing at all, way rather have him than Darche.

Fourth line of White/Moen/Armstrong, with the odd Nokeleinan from time to time; I'm OK with that. I'm guessing we're looking at:

Plekanec/Gionta/"Fill in the blank"
Desharnais/Pacioretty/Cole
Eller/Leblanc/Bourque
White/Moen/Armstrong
Nokeleinan

Gorges/Subban
Markov/Emelin
Kaberle/Diaz
Weber/St-Denis

A lot could change. Would still like to see them get a top 6 forward (Jagr?) and a veteran D (Allen?).
