Saw this tweet today and it made me laugh.

Quote:
Chad Qualls handed his walking papers today. He crumpled them into a ball and threw it in disgust. It was immediately hit for a 3-run homer.

Lol. I actually thought Qualls was going to be a solid addition to the 'pen this year. Boy was I wrong.

I hated the signing since Day 1. Seriously, this guy has been HORRIBLE in the past 3 years or so and whenever we faced him, we would destroy him.

Kyle Kendrick -
Quote:
“Gave us a chance to win,” Kendrick said. “Pitched deep in the game. They needed me to pitch deep in the game, I did that. We were in the game, had a chance to win the game. Yeah, you never want to give up runs, but I was happy with myself to go deep like that and give us a chance.”
---after giving up 5 runs in the 1st inning.

Someone needs to be traded to Japan for real.

I never really realized how bad we were until I looked at MLB.com and saw that there were only 7 teams with a worse winning percentage than us.

Lee has been brutal, it's not the fact that he doesnt have a win. It's the fact that he isnt even giving the Phillies a chance to win when he starts.

It seems like Pence and Ruiz are the entire offense.

This team loves giving up first inning runs.

In exchange for 2 minor leaguers. I'm watching the O's game now and they had him listed as "DH Jim Thome."

I'm a Phillies and O's fan, and since the O's are doing good I won't complain.

I'm not saying you are one, but man there have been a lot of phillies fans who have also been orioles fans coming out this year.

Nah I've been a O's fan since 2008 since my fiancee went to Johns Hopkins. I actually go to games, not "pick a team I like and cheer for them from my recliner." So is DeadPhish. If he's even around here anymore.

Haha I believe you, was just throwing it out there because I've noticed it this year especially here in lancaster.

Going to school in DC forces me to be fans of both the Caps and the Nats... Not really "big rivals" of the Flyers and Phils, but still the same conference, and the division for the Nats.

Yeah I know. I went down for the Phils-O's series and it was probably 60-40 Phils-O's fans, so it wouldn't surprise me if some Phillies fans went down there and started to like the team. That's how I became a fan. Went there the first time on a whim with the fiancee, loved Camden Yards and the atmosphere, and the team played an enjoyable game that day. It was inevitable.

8 games under .500, 10 games back of first in the division, 7.5 back of both Wild Card spots... and sinking fast.

Sell, sell, sell.

I think I said a while back, if we're like 70 games in, and they're 10 games back then it's probably time to sell....well, I guess we're there now.

That's a bummer but after this season I understand. As it stands right now the Phillies are only going to go downhill. They need to re-stock the cupboard, so to speak, and get some roster players to fill some holes. They definitely need to deal him and get some prospects and maybe a roster pitcher under control in the future to pitch middle-late innings. Deal Victorino too and bring D-Brown up and let him face big league pitching the rest of the year to see if he is worth keeping around.
