I personally hate the rat, but going to try and put that behind me now that he's on the team.

I don't disagree, I was aiding in making your point.

Was hoping to get Prust ( still am ) but can't really complain about Colby's contract,1year @ 1mill is a low risk high rewards kinda contract plus he looked pumped about coming here so hopefully he stays healthy.

Welcome to Montreal Armstrong !!

I'm not counting on him being healthy, but I don't see how you can possibly go wrong with signing him at that price. Leafs paid him like a second liner he never was. In a bottom six role, he's better than average when he plays. Good depth move.

Obviously his health is a huge issue on a team that has been very fragile.

If this Therrien era is going to work, bringing in one of his ''guys'' from PIT was a must. I know Elliotte Friedman was very clear back then on his Team 990 segments that one of the reasons why things collapsed for MT pretty quickly in PIT was the departure of Armstrong in 2008 as he had a key role in the locker room dynamic and the players-head coach link (they went to the Finals that spring after he was dealt, but were mediocre in 2008-09 until MT was fired).

And to troll Toronto fans, for the 2nd time in just over a week with Gally and now Colby, is beyond awesome.
Haven't checked their board but do they even care that Colby is here?

Many Leafs fans on the FA Frenzy board seemed pissed.

Give us the CUP!
Nobody mentioned anything about the Cup.

But the fact remains that Nokelainen and Armstrong are not signings to pull your hair about, especially not at that dollar figure. Both are decent depth signings, nothing more nothing less.

From what I heard Toronto bought Army out to save 2 million cap space to acquire a number 1 goalie.

I don't know if Armstrong is the same Armstrong we saw in ATL or PIT, but he's got lots of injuries the past two years. Hopefully he's fully recovered. Therrien knows Armstrong well in Pittsburgh. Army is a gritty player much like Cole. I don't think Army has scoring touch like Cole but he does use his body. Army is an upgrade over Darche, he did score 22 goals a year. But he isn't a top 6. Just one of those guys that's built for the playoffs and to play against Boston Bruins.

You think this signing is trolling? Interesting. I am actually happy he signed with you guys. I will leave it at that.

Leafs fans are dumb and think all our players are good after they leave. There is a reason we suck and it is because of players like Schenn and Armstrong.

Colby has had lots go right for him the last couple of years, getting married having a baby,TML's paying him $3 mil a year for 2yrs. and now he can be healthy playing for his favorite team.If he's healthy he's a steal for the Habs @ $1mil.good signing Bergevin.

Did Dudley not have Armstrong in Atlanta?

And you think we should be throwing money at **** bags like this? I don't know about you, but I didn't like watching our team become one of the worst teams in the league. These are nothing but desperation moves to say they did something during the FA frenzy. Therri was the first sign that this team is still in trouble.

Called it! One year, $1m. Pretty much a perfect fit for Montreal. Yes, he's injury prone, but when he's healthy he's very very good on the forecheck (something we desperately need) and is a strong corner man. He also likes going to the net and has some offensive upside. He's isn't a dog offensively.

One year means Armstrong better get healthy and stay healthy if he wants to get a contract next year.

my dream of armstrong lining up lupul with a massive hit behind the net may come to fruition and considering army is a troll he'll probably go out of his way to make it happen. haha

Good signing, we have some depth now, if only our key guys (Markov, Gionta) could stay healthy.
