I really hope we deal Morrow or Robidas. I don't think I can handle another year of Robidas.

Whitney has some serious old man skills. I can see that Dallas won't be able to use him quite in the same role that Phoenix did (basically matching him and his linemates straight up against the other team's best players), but he'll still chip in 30 odd points on the PP and be a solid contributor at even strength in a scoring role.

Lol'ing at the Carkner situation. Is he an Islander or an Avalanche?

Ray on TSN. Said Dallas was the only team not scared doing a 2nd year.

So the only reason he came to Dallas was because of the 2nd year... interesting.

Says he trains year round now. Only took 7 days off from training after the season.

Detroit makes offers on Pairse and Suter

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: No surprise but the Red Wings have made offers to both Ryan Suter and Zach Parise

Razor's going to love Whitney. He's seriously one of the best interviews in the league.

Yep, that's how you have to do it at that age. Unlike Modano who would take months off and then decide whether he wanted to start training again.

You forget he used to play with Rod Brind'Amour. You know, the most fit of all hockey players ever.

Which is why I think he's been added: To help our worst PP in franchise history from last season.

I really have to give props to GMJN on the 2 year contracts. This is a big ass deal to players, and GM's who ONLY do 1 years for vets lose out. 2 years isn't too much of a commitment to solid veterans.

So you would think that Phoenix would have to resign Shane Doan now right?

They don't have a choice ... if the team doesn't have an owner by the 9th .... he's moving on. It's an amazing gesture he's even waiting.

I wonder how much Phoenix would hate the Stars now if they landed Doan.

And on a team with infinite cap room, there is zero risk for giving out that extra year.
