Heck, if I were him, I'd go there. Think of the points he can rack up, as well as possible championships. Man, it would be fun for any player to play with Malkin and/or Crosby.

He could be like me and 1) play for the hometown team you watched growing up, or 2) play for the team that doesn't make you look like a ******.

Look I know if someone said, hey here is 100$ million, you aren't going to say no... but I think Parise and Suter both get the same type of offers from multiple teams, its going to end up being where they want to play.

**** me if Pittsburgh gets both... that's just stupid.

We're definitely going to offer NMCs though. Like I said, Flyers are trying to make them the new Briere and Timonen.

That's, what, 6.7 AAV? I don't see Parise signing at that number.

$80M over 12 years is $6.6M Cap Hit. I take that and run.

If they indeed want to play in the same place, I could easily see that happening.... just don't see that happening here.

I'm not sure it is possible to craft a 12-year deal that starts with the $24-26 over the first two, that doesn't end in an illegitimate circumvention at the end.

That would suggest we offered them less up front than Minnesota, Detroit, and Pittsburgh seem prepared to give them.

If they somehow manage to shock the hockey world and sign both of them, I can't even explain how I would feel.

Any cap hit for these two guys under 7 would be a steal given they are UFA's. We would definitely need to move come salary though. Mez would probably be gone.

There is a genuine undercurrent of confidence about the Penguins getting something done with Parise, but nothing's firm.

Its obvious he wants to go play with Sid. I can live with that. I just don't want them to get Suter too.

Penner re-signed in LA, reportedly north of 3 mil per but no word on length of contract or total $ as of yet
