Agreed, and I said this. If Parise leaves, and we don't replace him with a trade, or signing than there is no reason to not re sign Petr. We just lost 52 goals, and our scoring wasn't exactly top 10 in the league in the regular season I don't believe. Take off 12 for the goals we got for winning shootouts.

I don't think you're giving anyone else on the team any credit. Those are some talented hockey players if you ask me.

Michalek was one of their few reliable defensemen and they traded him to upgrade their offense. Go figure.

"What I'm gathering is the Devils made a competitive offer to Parise. Not as much as some teams are offering but if he wants to stay, he can."

Of course we did.

So far, the Rangers have signed Arron Asham and Micheal Haley. Clearly, Glen Sather felt they weren't suspendable enough.

If the Flyers sign zach and suter to long term deals, what are the odds that Holmgren trades them 3 weeks later?

Like #Flyers the #Wild have thrown the kitchen sink at Parise/Suter. Going rate on all #NHL offers are now minimum 12 years between 80-90M

There's more to being a captain than that.
Like what? Talk to the media? All I want out of a the Devils Captain is someone who sticks up for the team.

Soo if you want to drag this out, dont worry I have backup options. You either resign with NJ or you dont. Either way, we will still have backup plans

Arron Asham has finished his Atlantic division tour good for him.

Might be another short term solution until Henrique steps up.

a) Marty is going to sign, just chillax, because they are waiting on Parise, so they know what kind of contract they can draw up. You really think Marty is going to leave the franchise he's played his entire HOF career with, right before he retires? Hell, I'm surprised he's not retiring this year. A this point in his career the most important thing is his legacy, unless he's a complete goof job he's not going to toss that, and he knows nobody loves him like we do.

b) Zack may be back, might not, but we're going to have to wait, c'est la vie. Still him going to the Pens would be epic, as they are going to need to score 8 goals a game to make up for the 7 they are going to give up every night, so LOLz.

Don't know what you were watching, but ask any PITT fan or anyone who watched them and Michalek was a big disappointment, especially at that cap hit.

Chicken Little is running rampant in here. Marty will wait until Zach is signed like Moose and apparently Sal are. Our offer is competitive and Lou will have a chance to counter

Lot of BS floating around but doesn't seem this will be settled at all today.

That plus there's maybe five teams at best that are going to offer him something, fewer still are going to be offering him 50-60 games. He could have gone somewhere else already if he wanted to, unless his decision is going to be based (gulp) on whether Zach leaves, and he wants to go out the door too cause the team won't be competitive. Either way it's not taking him two days to go through whatever other teams have offered.
