What's Carolina gonna do, trade Skinner for him? They already spent a lot of their assets getting Staal.

Hopefully a deal for Nash will let Sather and Murray sit down one on one and focus solely on Ryan.

I'm telling you we'd be much better off with Ryan. Younger, cheaper, and is a good fit on this team.
When all is said and done he'll cost more in assets.

IF, IF we do get Nash, what does that mean down the road for guys like Hank, Cally, Gaborik and all the young'ns who rightly so, will want a raise after their entry contracts. Will we have to part with many of the young parts we've come to love?

Yeah I'd rather they don't get anything, but especially Suter. That would make a team that's all offense and no defense, instantly passable defensively.

I haven't really been hearing anything about Ryan, though.

I agree, though, I do not want Nash. If Ryan costs a little more then so be it, but im afraid it's going to coast A LOT. I can't see them dealing him to us for anything less than either a Staal/McDonagh centerpiece or Stepan in the deal.

And, one of the things Dreger said before TSN signed off is that the Rangers are still the likely spot for Nash, so, Howson can ask Holmgrem and every other team interested to make offers, but, as Dreger and MacKenzie said, Nash isn't going to move off the list of teams he'll accept a deal to, and Sather's not giving up any of Kreider, McDonagh or Stepan.

Oh absolutely. Even if Carolina was on the list, what do they have left to trade for him?

Ryan will cost more. He has no NMC or NTC. The Ducks can deal him wherever they want. What are you willing to give up to get him?

I agree, and you know I'm all about the Booby. But Nash on the Rangers would be a giant leap towards filling an offensive gap on our top 6. Especially with Gabs out, having him around makes us a bigger threat offensively.

Another day, another attempt by Howson to prod Rangers into doing something won't do. It's a waste of time.
Seems like Slats isn't budging. Good to hear.

But when you look at the additional assets it will cost to acquire him does it really make more sense? I don't think so.

Exactly, what do they have that is so lucrative other than Skinner? San Jose, imo, has had the best offer on the table.
