Exactly. Kings just need to get over their hangover and they should be better next season. A full season with Carter, a more comfortable Mike Richards and Dustin Penner. A full training camp with Drew, no contract squabbles with Quick. Voynov and Martinez should also be playing with more poise and confidence. Sutter will have a full season with another assistant coach of his choice (bye bye Kompon). Hold the damn fort and make adjustments mid season if they need to.

I totally agree. I am just bored and think he would be a great fit. It would be nice if he would want to play for a true contender and sacrific money for a chance at the cup. I can dream.

If Penner plays like he did in the playoffs they can talk long term at any time in the season, if he sucks like he did in the regular season they can just walk away.
Career average of 23G and 44Pts over 82 games. About the same numbers over the last 3 years. If the Kings can get 20 goals and 40 points from Penner, they'll be alright. Even 15-19 goals would be an improvement after last year.

I know you dislike Stoll, but he had more value on the open market. Don't think Stoll was interested in a one year "prove yourself" contract. I don't think anyone can question Stoll's effort or dedication.
He lives in LA full time and does everything the team asks of him. Moved to a lesser role in a contract year and didn't complain.
Weber is going to be way out of our price range. Barring a major CBA adjustment, think well over 100 million + NTC and that whole thing. I don't think there will ever be a UFA who gets paid more than him.

I think his regular season point totals are going to skyrocket. Given that the team has now shaken the offensive bug which plagued them (and Kompon) and considering that many of the regular season games will be against teams without one quality shutdown line much less two, our players will have good increases in their offensive output.
