Scored 13 goals the year before. Woops.

Real team guy. How can you not love this

Its 2,375 Cap hit on a 72 Million Cap. Lets get over it. I doubt that extra 2,735 will prevent us from re-signing Carey/Pk/Pacioretty

Forgot about Army, and I don't like the idea of moving down Gionta (but I may be biased, love the guy).

One injury away from having Moen in the top 6. That will be addressed.

Pierre Gauthier would have done the same as you suggest. Thank God you and Pierre arent the GM.

As someone posted earlier, Montreal has been lacking a player of Prust's caliber. He is very useful and plays a role like Clarkson for the Devils.

Prust is worth every penny for this "team". Now if we were loaded with tough players like the Bruins, yes, we could complain about this being an overpayment.
Clarkson is a 30-goal scorer...

But I like the Prust signing a lot. Overpaid, one year too many, but, as you're saying, a much needed asset for this team.

People complaining always complaining nothing new here. We would sign Stamkos to a 5 year deal and they would still be people complaining.

500k for christ sake it's a lot of money for us but not for the nhl.

I knew I forgot someone. I really didn't want to ice Noke. lol

I like Gio too, but doesn't mean he'd get significantly less TOI. He plays PP/PK and if he's 3rd line on ES, doesn't mean he'll suffer greatly.

I agree. That's the biggest/most physical group of forwards that the Habs have had in a loooooong time. You have a big body presence on each and every line (granted that Bourque's only shows up every now and then, but at least it's there).

Today didn't help our skill/offense level any, but it didn't hurt it either. Meanwhile, we're a lot bigger/tougher now. Overall, we're a better team now than we were 24 hours ago. Putting aside cap hits and terms, that's good to see.

Adding Jagr would indeed be the final piece of our forward puzzle for me. That would give us some needed added offense.

Edit: Oh, and shift White to Center, and put Armstrong in the 4th line RW spot. Noke is a good 13th forward. As for Gomez... whatever.

also what ever Prust got today cut it in HALF for Quebec taxes....right of the start.

Over paid or whatever,

I can't cry over that for a guy slugging it out 20 fights a year....

Like the player. Contract is 500K higher than I wanted, but expected in a weak UFA market. I'm sure he had a lot of suitors.

That's the only reason I'm upset, I'm very concerned about Bergevin's priorities right now.

Maxpac-DD-Cole
Bourque-Plekanec-Jagr
Prust-Eller-Gionta
Moen-White-Armstrong

Would be the updated line-up.

Excellent signing I don't mind the 2.5 it isn't terrible. I will see him around the rink in London with Perry and the boys this summer and ask him what he thinks about being a new HAB.

For those complaining about the term, I guarantee that every Habs player is happy about this signing. Anyone who has played the game understands the importance of teammates who always have your back.

Interchangeable for me really. Similar type of player but whoever fits best in a certain position.

Clarkson had 12 the year before. I'm not sold that Clarkson will even be a regular 20 goal guy.

I agree, but I bet they'd also appreciate having guys who can score goals regularly. The way they play plus their age make Cole and Gionta walking injury risks.

What i like is you got Moen who is rugged and Prust rugged on the 3rd and 4th ....

I still await the heavy weight .
