I wouldn't say they're comparable. Talbot played a much larger role in many more playoff appearances.

Torrey Mitchell on signing with #mnwild: "I am just so pumped to sign there. It's a great hockey city. This is super exciting."
-----
Love seeing this type of reaction from free-agent signees.

Like I said here, if it brings more confidence to Seto, that could be a great deal IMO.

Meh signing. He'll be buried soon enough in the minors...

Just an additional tidbit on Mitchell, he's getting married in 2 weeks to his longtime girlfriend, also friends with Seto. In fact, she used to do Seto's laundry and cut his hair when Seto/Mitchy lived together.

I really can't stress how much this signing has to do with chemistry and jump starting Seto.

Obviously the point was Bouchard has a big contract and if we are trying to bring both Suter and Parise in that will require a lot of cap. Also Parise knocks PMB down the depth chart and makes him more expendable.

San Jose knows what Burish is capable of when he's on his game, and it gave them problems in their "choke" season. Same ideas as my post on the previous page. You want your #1 choice to sign on the first day you're going to have to give them what they want.

Why would the Wild trade Seto?

1. We don't get Parise, and GMCF has to include Seto in the trade to get a Bobby Ryan or whoever.

2. We do get Parise but lose out on Suter/Carle. Seto is traded for a veteran defenseman.

I like this, very strong 3rd line, makes us a pain in the ass to play against.

Mitchell-Brodziak-Clutterbuck
Kassian-Knopka-Powe
Veilleux

Speed, heart, grit. Tough to play against, fits into what Yeo wants.

Yep. Now all we need is so damned scoring and some quality defense.

A little surprised by the signings so far but both of them seem decent. Looks like the prospects will be developing in Houston for a year or two now. I bet Larsson is the first one called up though if and when there are injuries.

On the Clutter proposal, if Bulmer impresses in camp, I could see Clutter being moved in a package to acquire a top 6 forward or more likely, a top 4 d-man. I think a big part of that though not only depends on Bulmer, but also if we strike out on Parise and Suter.

If you're talking about prospect camp, I don't think Fletcher looks that closely into play there, to determine his NHL roster. As for actual training camp, it's fairly rare for trades to be made between September and December, and those that do are generally after the season has progressed a little and teams either have failures or injuries. For the most part, teams are content to run with what they have from training camp until the new year.

Well, Yeo loves speed up front too, and Mitchell is that.

You overpay for anybody signed on July 1/2. That's just reality, particularly when the cap has increased $11M in two years.

That was just an unfortunate incident.

Nobody can blame him for that. Same for Nystrom.

This is great. The signing is worth for this alone!
