sticking with my wrestling comment from earlier....
Who is this Rudy-Poo?
He is small, skilled AHL forward that has upside. Basically a no-risk investment by the Jackets. He player really well with the Rangers farm team last season in Hartford. I'd say he is comparable to Atkinson/Calvert.

Hmmmmm.... Geoff Platt-esque..... Looking at some numbers and the like.... NYR just wasn't interested? Seems strange to be signing him to an ELC when he played in the "A" last year, no real risk though, can play immediately and contribute in Springfield....
If numbers last season are a good indication, seems like a good move.

It is a good risk to take.
The Rangers apparently did not want to give him the full valued ELC, so Howson swooped in and stole him.
Never seen him play, but at his size it's almost a lock that he's got good speed.
Given the lack of scoring prowess on the Jackets, it's a good low cost/low risk signing. With the Jackets he's probably got a good shot of seeing some action next season.
I won't complain, we desperately need scorers at the AHL level as we have very little offensive skill in our prospect cupboard....
Does this guy have NHL upside?
I think he has upside, but he really has to overcome his size deficiency to make it as a regular in the big leagues. Who knows, maybe he can become a player who overcame size like Gerbe or Desharnais.
Looks like CBJ is trying to add speed up front and a solid defense. Need solid goaltending too and that could be a good recipe for success. Foligno and JAM are solid additions and hopefully the continuation of a "plan".
Rangers had signed him to just an AHL deal and very much wanted to keep him. He took advantage of his UFA status to sign with a team where he has far less competition to make the NHL!
He made a tremendous transition to pro hockey, much better than most guys coming out of junior! Prior to Hagelin being called up to the Rangers, JAM was out performing him. He played well in the AHL AllStar game which I watched and he has good quickness and great hockey sense. If u check his career stats, you see he performs well in playoff games.
I hope he does attend the development camp cause I'm sure he will be very impressive.
