No wonder they fail recruiting UFAs all the time. I bet you Armstrong proves them wrong this year and he has a solid 3-4 line year with the Habs. Burke is not a good GM. I'm very not very impressed right now.
Oh no not a 3-4th line player often injured player. Burke should be fired!

This only gives more space for the players like Frattin and potentially Kadri to make a name for themselves which I and nobody else should have a problem with.

You know what's funny, some guy with the same handle as you called Armstrong dead wood back in April.

Yeah. Thanks to Burke, as usual, being an idiot. He just sucks so much.
The initial contract was stupid, which once again put burke on the defensive to try and make up for the mistake he made in his idiocy.

If only the Leafs could find one of the insane amount of Gms who always get it right....

Nothing is funny about the whole Armstrong fiasco. He never played up to his contract and now Armstrong has to prove he can still play in the NHL.

The only reason Armstrong took a big discount for the Habs is the fact the Leafs bought him out or he would have asked for more money. Apparently, Armstrong is a big Habs fan so it's odd he signed with the Leafs previously. It just goes to show money talks with Armstrong and nothing is wrong with that until it's the Leafs money that is held up on the cap for a player that gets injured often.

The Canadiens can keep Armstrong and his awesome joking style character in the locker room.

There's a difference between paying him while he's playing for the Habs, and paying him to play for the Habs.

Can't hear you -- I'm still laughing at Scott Gomez being a $7M cap hit.

Well, if he brings the same thing to the Habs that he brought to the Leafs, I'll gladly pay him to play for the Habs!

Oh yeah, that 1 million dollars next season is sure gonna handcuff our 11 million in freed up salary going forward and an additional 12 million the following year.

But hey, congrats on your 6 million dollar 4th line for 4 years!

In the end not a big deal that he goes to Montreal. Good guy and fairly entertaining twitter, but he was healthy so little that his twitter is the most that I'll remember about his time here . Maybe his luck will change now that he's left.

Before he signed his contract in Toronto he had a 22 goal, 40 point season in 82 games in 2008-09 and had a 15 goal, 29 point season in 79 games in 2009-10

When Montreal signed him he was coming of a 8 goal, 23 point season in 50 games in 2010-11 and a 1 goal, 3 point season in 29 games in 2011-2012.

Completely different situations hence the pay cut.

Not sure what to make of it...

When the sigining happened I said "overpayment".It looks like the Leafs have too many wingers and need to make room for Kadri,Frattin etc.If he can't land a number one center, sell some sizzle.

Does this mean he wasn't even worth a 7th rounder?
