Gross.

Losing Toots doesn't hurt, but losing him to the WINGS certainly does.

I've always said I would HATE playing against him...and now we have to play against him 6 times a year.

Man I really wanted to be happy for him if he got a good contract somewhere...but it's hard to be happy for this.

Well, that's one way we can break up Detroit's masterful possession game against us. Well played Poile.

Oh well. Didn't want him back anyway. It makes no difference to me if he's a Wing or a Canuck or a Flyer. He isn't a Pred, so I don't give a damn about him.

I think this pretty much confirms someone in Nashville pissed him off, though.

They better tighten up the boards at the Joe. An entire season of Toots missing his hits and slamming into the glass could be dangerous in the old place.

If signing Tootoo makes your team better you were in serious trouble.

awesome! Holland hasn't had any toughness on the roster lately, probably been missing McCarty a lot. I think this is bad news for a lot of western teams, especially if Toots is motivated.

However, I think the Preds are not hurt by this at all and are one team that his antics will not work against. They know his game, how to avoid falling into it and they know how to get him off his game.

Except we have to play against him six times per year now. That kinda sucks.

He isn't a game changer, so who cares? All he will do is try to mix it up, and everyone on the team knows exactly how he will do that. Let him run his mouth and take his cheap shots wearing another jersey for a change. Personally, I'll be happy to have a break from the whining on HF Boards the next time he runs a goalie or sucker punches someone.

Tootoo showed something after getting out of rehab. He played harder, and for a little while he was playing well. This past year he had some good stretches of games. Trouble is, he isn't consistent. He has one dimension when it comes to playing like a scoring forward, but when that dimension is being defended well he can't do anything else. We need fewer of those kinds of players, not more.

detroit has signed a goalie run out of toronto, an energy guy in toots, and ex wing in samuelsson. they haven't got better. they lost lidstrom. suter or parise makes them better.

I agree with everything you're saying...I don't think we need Tootoo and I don't care that he left. But I don't want to play against him six times per year because I don't want to have to worry about him pulling a Robidas on one of our players. Borderline dirty players are only cool when they play for your team.

Honesty, unless the Wings package a bunch of forwards in a trade I don't see Tootoo getting much ice time there, anyway. He'll probably play himself right to the press box soon enough.

Toots on DET won't really hurt us except when he runs Erat or Smith or something. We'll be prepared to take his number though, that's for sure. It's easy to remember.

He'll still probably get a standing O and a video tribute though.
