Heh, Red Wings fans aren't particularly happy with either acquisition - Tootoo and Mikael Samuelsson.

Don't worry guys, you're still getting Suter.

I would have liked Tootoo here but not At 3 years. If the term was a stipulation to sign him, I'm glad we passed.

Sometimes your best move is no move. This organization has a ton of #3, #4, #5, and #6 d-men on the team, and developing in the system, unless its Suter, Weber or those types then you make a play for them. Starting signing these UFA's and in a couple years when there diminishing assets you can wonder how to buy them out or trade them with out not having to take cap space from other teams, or also buying that player out, (like Redden, Holik, Mogilny type contracts)

I'm glad we're waiting. Lets just see how the market shakes out.

If Philly does sign one or both of Suter and Parise, a guy like Meszaros will probably be available on the cheap.

I'd rather a guy like him than 4M+ on a guy like Allen.

We need the Suter and Parise domino to fall soon, as I think we will see a flurry of activity after.

Jason Arnott
I know he has left here with bad terms. Since oilers has dealt with Schultz deal with his brother Wade. Do you think there is a possibility of him signing here one year and put him and Smyth together. Big centre right handed shot with good f/o ability, and can play point on PP

One of Arnott or Horcoff would have to play wing for it to work.

Hall - Nugent-Hopkins - Eberle
Hemsky - Gagner - Yakupov
Smyth - Arnott - Horcoff
Eager - Belanger - Jones
Petrell, Hordichuk

I'd love to sign Arnott to fill in at 2C... Push Horcoff to 4C. Arnott is a big body, too. I don't think he'd sign here though, as he has too much negative history here.

Garrison is apparently up to 6.5M per year on offers.

Maybe Jagr is waiting to see if Hemsky gets traded somewhere.

Maybe he'd be worth that if he strung together more than one good season in a row.

I would have been upset with 4 million.

Said it before, whoever overpays for this guy is going to end up with one of the top 5 worst contracts in the NHL.

Id give him 7 mill for 1 year lol. We can afford it THIS year, and gives the young D time to develop.

Plus then he can prove to everyone for his next contract that he is for real. I bet he would have a great year!

NHL general managers are so ****ing stupid, arguably the dumbest in North American professional sports. As time passes I'm beginning to think that it's just blind luck when a manager manages to ice a good to elite team. Obviously, the coaches deserve a lot of credit.

Sorry, Bob. That's still a lousy team. Tambi's work isn't done yet.
