Marchand's nose will be fixed, corrected...knocked off if necessary!

Like Marchand would ever fight Prust. He'd immediately run to Chara.

That's why Habs should be reasonable and send that poor kid to Europe, where he just might be a decent Elitserien top-6 forward.

You don't always need scoring from the 3rd line to win btw. Besides Armstrong and Prust aren't just fighters.
Whatever. Believe in the toughness fairy if you want. But none of these guys will be on the ice when the skilled players play.

And Montreal really needs a 3rd line that can beat opponents not just limit chances against. They don't have the offensive talent to rely on just two lines to do the scoring. However, they do have the defense at the top of the lineup thanks to Plekanec that they can put a third line in a position to do some scoring.

Only when Montreal has gotten three capable scoring lines have they been good at even strength. That's the formula they need to follow.

I have a bad feeling will continue to use the 1 scoring line they used last year like Desharnais-Pacioretty is the second coming of the Sedins.

My thoughts are that building a second two-way line of Moen - Eller - Gionta can take some of the load off of Plekanec and let him be more offensive. I wouldn't mind another 1 yr, 1 M deal for D. Moore to let Pleks be a truly offensive 70-pt centre, hopefully with JJagr on his RW.

Congrats, fellas. You guys are going to love him and he definitely brings something to the MTL that was missing last season.

Sad day to see him leave the Rangers, hasn't really hit me yet.

I'll be pullin' for you guys.

THX NJ!, The war up North is with Boston not really NYC, Habs-Rangers are the same style.

Right now the problem with giving Moen and Gionta to Eller is that those are the best wingers to give Plekanec.

I have very little faith in Bourque and a new top sixer has yet to materialize. I'm not so optomistic right now but there's a chance MB pulls something off there.

Saying that I'll be rooting for Prust if he fights Asham doesn't even come close to doing justice on saying how much I liked Prust.

I would have got his jersey if we had him signed for longer.

Sorry I keep coming here, I just miss him already.

Regarding Prust's contract, do you not think that Gaustad's contract kinda inflated the prices for bottom 6 players? If gaustad gets north of 3 mil, does prust not think he's worth north of 2mil? The loser here is travis moen imo because he signed before gaustad got his deal done. I think he could have made a fair chunk more had he waited a couple days longer, with or without the hometown discount.

You guys will love him. So upset to see him leave NY. One of my favorite players. I dunno what I'm going to do with my Prust jersey now.

I love what I'm hearing about Prust. The same thing happened last year when we signed Cole, all the 'Canes fans came over into our thread and couldn't say enough good things about him. I'm thinking Prust will be a good fit in Montreal.

Gionta will be on the second line, Bourque will likely get dealt. Prust isn't going to be on a scoring line lol

Pacioretty-Plekanec-Giont
Bourque-Desharnais-Cole
Moen-Eller-Armstrong
Prust-Nokia-White

Meh, at least we'll be tougher, even if we can't score more than 2 goals a game...

2013 lottery here we come.

Pierre McGuire loves the deal.

Called him best PK guy in NHL.

Fights not for himself , but for his team mates....

Smart enough to pick his spots

That is the jam Montreal was needing bad.

Well, at least we can get the "moral victories" people have been crying for. Well, that and Barkov.

As a Rangers fan--this is a good guy. Hope he does well except when he's playing us. You won't be pushed around--he always answers the bell. He's a very good penalty killer and once in a while he puts a puck in the net--definitely not one dimensional.

If there's a drawback he gets hurt--he will play hurt but he'll not be quite the same. He's a heart and soul player but he's not that big and his body has taken a lot of abuse. I hate for the Rangers to lose him though. He's like Adam Graves--just not quite as talented but in NYC Adam Graves is an icon.

David Pagnotta ‏@TheFourthPeriod

Prust on signing with MTL: "It's been a long and crazy day, but in the end, I felt that Montreal was a great fit for me..."

David Pagnotta ‏@TheFourthPeriod

"Obviously, Montreal is the best hockey city in the world. They have a great history. I feel like I fit into this lineup..."

David Pagnotta ‏@TheFourthPeriod

"I think (MTL's) lacking someone like me... When other teams come into our building, they know they're going to be in for a long night"

He's already fought Lucic at least twice that I remember.

The guy once had an instigator called on him for going after Steve McIntyre ffs. You don't start sentences with "Prust won't be taking on...."
