That's what I think is the most logical option.

Ya its called having Pronger-Neids

I think Sbisa is better then Staal as a PMD. I'm not even dreaming of saying the defense is a top 5 in the NHL like the Rangers but people are acting like it is as bad as it was a few years ago.

As for the signings, if we include Souray, there is no way Ryan is traded for a Dman now......I hope BM is not preparing us for the Ryan for Voracek and Read type of trade.
I think it was done to prevent bigger market teams from getting creative, as ironic as that is. Mainly so they didn't have the annual salaries bouncing all over the place so it appeared to give them more space than they actually had in certain years. This way, they figured that didn't matter, and everyone had a fair shot. Of course, they didn't envision the dearth of 10+ year contracts with heavily front loaded deals and bogus years at the end. Those definitely have to stop next CBA.

Three years for Souray? The hell?

And $11m total, so $3.67 cap hit. Definitely a lot higher than I wanted.

What is this? I don't get it. We'll never need to worry about being over the cap, thus I wouldn't think it's a big deal, but it truly puzzles me.

I love the Allen signing but 3 years for Souray at that price seems extremely risky.

Is this what people meant when they said the kings winning the Cup was good for the Ducks and Socal hockey in general, because management would now go out and actually compete?

Same thing I was thinking. Money doesn't bother me a ton, it's a little steep but not a whole lot, $3 mil for him probably would've been fair. But three years? That's certainly interesting, to say the least.

This is a really weird signing. I mean... I almost wonder if we're moving Lydman now.

"Lubo is 36 and an offensive defenseman. We have some younger guys who are offensive".

Yeah, let's replace him with another 36 year old who's worse in both ends, for more money and that will be 39 when the contract expires... At that salary, one year would have been enough.

The upside is if he retires after this season we get two years of 3.66m free cap hit.

Something had me thinking he was 33 or 34.

Just keeps getting worse.

Couldn't have offered Carle a nice contract with the combined money from Allen and Souray. Murray really is an idiot. God help us all.
