Pretty sure that the post was being sarcastic. I believe it was in reference to an earlier post in the thread. Probably a page or two back.

You really can't fault the people who stopped following the Pirates and are now interested in them. I used to consider myself a huge fan, but on top of the losing and not being involved in local baseball anymore I can admit that I lost a lot of interest. I know a lot of people who went the same way as well.

I took it as sarcasm too. Guy was mocking the prediction of collapse from earlier in the thread.
