Pencil Prust in where those question marks are.

Kind of disappointing we aren't adding to our top 6...

Absolutely love that deal ! I really wanted him before Toronto landed him.

I'm a happy Hab right now, our bottom 6 is looking good !

That's a pretty crappy lineup really, but I'd just as soon as grab that good draft pick then in a couple of years we'll be in great shape.

Good signing!
That's why I expect him to bounce back.

Therrien knows him from his PIT days so I like this signing.

Plus... 4. Dumont – White – Armstrong

I also question whether he can keep up with the play. He's never been a good skater. Nonetheless, it's depth and a reclamation project at a cheap price.

I'd say Prust instead of Dumont. Dumont's got all the heart of the world, but he gotta prove he belongs. He'll get a shot. Maybe not this year, but he'll get a shot.

But yes, it's a perfect situation for Colby to just spawn back from the dead, a bit like what we saw with Ryder going to play for Julien in Boston.

Okay...note to people....you don't have to add a top 6 at the UFA period. There are other times for that. If you can, so be it. If you can't, you might get your chance elsewhere.

Now, my initial reaction was WTF....the guy is always hurt, and I would have loved to have Colby 5 years ago but now? When you are being bought out by the freakin Leafs...how is that guy a priority....Well, I still beleive the same. But, like Bouillon it is just 1 year. So let just say that Bergevin seems to honor Gainey with his stop gaps players, the difference being that some seems to have more grit and sandpapers AND better hockey player than what the past administration has done so it can't be bad....for now. But we'll see. It was fun to hear him how glad he was, this SALUUUUUUUT on RDS was a little creepy but fun.....seems a nice guy, Maxime Talbot says how much this guy was liked and so on so a good dressing room guy is never bad. If he can stay healthy, it makes him a fine acquisition, add the 1M$/1 year, it can't be an awful signing. But we will hear about this if he gets hurt, that's for sure. But we might be happy the days he pisses the opposition off. So, not an incredible great hire...but not a bad one as well.

If he's injured a bit and plays 2/3 of the season, it is just a year and for $1 million. The thing is, if he is here to play and makes a difference, that contract is phenomenal. His childhood favorite team was the Habs and the fire inside of him to prove the Leafs wrong for giving up on him are things that could spark the season for Colby.

We'll see. It could either go nowhere or it could go somewhere.

If we suck and he rebounds we might get a 2nd for him...

I find I'm always apprehensive about a deal, or a signing at first and then it grows on me.

Any of Moen Armstrong or Prust can play center? That could be a good line

Or Prust White Moen

1 year 1m? Thats a very solid signing, Armstrong is potentially a good and useful 3rd line player.

The joy of reading about the Prust's signing combined with my doubts regarding Leblanc (is he physically ready?) led me to label him (Prust) as a 3rd liner!

Dumont (he was impressive during his short stint with the big club at season end), Armstrong, White (99% lock) and Nokelainen will be fighting for two spots on 4th.

If Leblanc isn't ready physicall, I fail to see how Dumont will be....

Leaf fan coming in peace. His style of play is why he gets injured all the time. He was injured before he became a leaf too. He is a bonehead that goes at players the wrong way.....all the time.

But, when he is in the lineup, he makes a difference usually.

Put it this way, there are not many leaf fans sad to see him go. Waste of space and a spot if you ask me, but good luck with him. You might get more out of him because he grew up a habs fan.

I'm sure it's done, but it's a bit odd that the Armstrong and Bouillon signings both haven't been made official yet on Canadiens.com, yet the Prust, Desjardins and Blunden ones have.

Maybe they haven't signed the official papers yet?

Very low risk with decent potential for reward.

Montreal had one of the worst teams in the league, was one of the weakest and softest in the league. They cant really get much worse than what we saw last year. Im willing to give these guys a chance after having the pleasure of watching Darche, Enqvist, Weber last year.

So...

Dudley becomes ATL GM, they get Armstrong from PGH.
Dudley joins TOR management, they get Armstrong from ATL.
Dudley joins MTL management, they get Armstrong from TOR.

I see where this is going.

I think Army was already there when Dudley joined the Leafs.

When Army got to Toronto Dudley was just starting out his GM gig in Atlanta.

This is correct, Dudley didn't make much of an effort to resign Armstrong in Atlanta.

It should also be mentioned that Armstrong mentioned today that he wasn't used properly in Toronto. Don't be surprised to see Therrien experiment with him in the top six.

Probably pending physicals, like Blair Betts last season.

I think that if Armstrong stays healthy a line of Moen-Eller-Arsmtrong could be an interesting shutdown line, allowing the Pleks line (with Bourque and Gio, I presume) to get easier match-ups and probably produce more. This could be good.
