So my girlfriend just bought a 49cm vintage fuji that I am currently in the process of taking apart so we can strip it and paint it, problem is the stem is seized into the fork. I've blasted it with WD-40 and PB Blaster and it's still not budging.. any one have any other suggestions for that?
Otherwise I tas thinking about just hacking off the stem, which obviously will mean that the fork will be unusable, luckily though there is another abandoned vintage fuji frame in my house, of a similar model though this frame I think is around a 54-55cm, So my question is, can I take the fork of this bike and use it on the other?
The only issue I see with this is the different sizes in the steer tube, which I assume would mean that the threads will come higher if i put the forks of the bigger frame into the smaller frame. Would this cause a major issue?
