I'm going to be shocked out of my skin if he doesn't. I'm expecting between 15-20. I'd be unsurprised to see him hit 25.

I do expect him to score more than 15 goals.

I was confused with the wording of the question.

And that's why we don't need to sign or trade for another 7M+ forward. Yes, we do need more offense. But a 30 goal guy would cost less in both assets and cap hit, and would fill that need nicely. When added to a full season of Kreider, and a better performance from Dubi we can be a legit top 5 scoring team. We were only about 20 goals away from that this year. Granted, when Gabby returns will have a lot to say about that...but assuming he's at 100% come the playoffs the team should be fine.

Totally agree. But then again, I've been saying that basically since training camp last year when people were first talking about Parise. I'm just glad there are a few others saying the same thing.

I believe that the odds are the same that Nash would score 45 as Dubi scoring 25. Kreider... Great in the playoffs. Did he prove that he is the goods? Too small a sample for me.

I suspect that if Sather falls prey to your opinion then no real deal will be consumated.

We're both guessing. Do i believe Nash is worth the dollars on this team giving up a Dubi, picks, a prospect? To me, a no brainer.

Rick Nash has scored 30 goals every year playing with nobody. He will def add 5-10 goals and 10-20 more points with us. That makes him a 35/40 70/80 pt player for us

Here is some good reading material for you.

http://hockeyanalysis.com/2012/02/14/what-is-rick-nash/
Quote:
Overall in 5v5 close situations Rick Nash looks to be a solid offensive player, but not elite overall and defensively he is relatively weak.
Quote:
Generally speaking, his PP numbers are quite poor relative to other top PP forwards.
Quote:
So, to summarize, yes Nash is a good offensive player who may put up better numbers playing with better offensive players but he is probably not an elite offensive forward. Also, he isnít a great defensive forward so offense really is what you get him for. If I were Columbus I would be willing to trade him if I can get a quality NHL ready player capable of playing in their top 6 forwards, a top tier prospect and a first round pick. If I were other teams, I would be very wary of over paying because he is not an elite player but he is paid like one ($7.8M cap hit for 6 more seasons).

I'd rather spend less assets and get Nash than give up major, major assets for Ryan. On Nash the costs are controlled by the combination of his contract and his NMC. Anaheim can send Ryan wherever the **** they want. He's gonna be way more expensive.

It's true Ryan has a much better contract, but in all likelihood we're not keeping Gaborik when his contract runs out at age 32. Between that and the new CBA, we should have plenty of space to keep Henrik, Cally, McDonagh, etc. Our main concern should be in making a deal for Nash while giving up as little as possible. Howson's backed into a corner.

I've read it, u Mr telling me Nash won't add at least 5 goals playing with us? That is still a 35/70 player which helps us tremendously

If we're counting empty net goals I'll put Dubi down for 18 total.

I cannot tell you and nobody can cause nobody can predict the future. How will Nash fit with the team, will he click with Brad, how will he react to Torts when he starts ripping into him?
So many questions that will affect his production.

i think there will be more depth signings but i think slats is hoping to finalize the deal for nash first so he knows how many players off the roster it will cost him...

i wouldn't be surprised if fedotenko is back. mueller has sather reclamation project written all over him, if doan decides to take offers (said he'll give pho till july 8th) i think we'll be interested. rumors today of us being interest in hudler...

the team we have today most likely won't be the team we have in 2 months

The assumption should never be that a player is going to hit career highs if he is traded or signed here. I've never understood that mentality. The expectation should be that he will maintain his career average, which for Rick Nash would be around 35 goals and 65-67 points.

The notion that a player will consistently outperform what he has accomplished on his previous team(s) has been disproved time and time again. I'm still waiting for Gaborik to score 50 goals, because that was what he was supposed to do after he escaped from Lemaire's defensive system and joined our team, apparently.

I find the Hudler rumor interesting.
Safe to say that for 4M/year he is top 6. Also safe to say that Kreider will be playing on second line. Is Hudler a first liner? Debatable ...
So where does he fit?

hate the 4th line.
Excluding Parise, Hudler's the only forward that really interests me.23 even-strength goals - tops on the Red Wings. I think he will come in at a salary higher than 3.4MM though. He's also a LW/C, so those lines would have to change a bit and I think you'd want him in the top two lines.
