I know it doesn't happen consistently but if you look at the roster, almost everyone on it has dropped the gloves in the last two seasons for the Kings. They might not carry a guy specifically to fight but they are definitely a tough team. I think the only guys who haven't fought that are regulars is Carter, Scuderi, Martinez and Voynov

lol @ Doan @ $5M - you people have lost your mind.

Stupid contracts aside, Doan on the Kings makes me nervous from a chemistry standpoint. Not because I think the current King players will hold any kind of a grudge but because I think recent events have revealed Doan's true character. Plus with Penner re-signed, there is no spot for him.

With us icing basically the same lineup next season, it will be interesting to see whether or not our playoff run was an aberration, or if this team has what it takes to be a consistent contender.

Considering it wasn't just the playoffs it was since Sutter took over we are looking good. And when we think he had to get the guys off all D all the time, going into a full season this should be a very nice year provided someone at the CBA talks doesn't screw it up for us.

I'm eager to see Carter. Fully healthy, under Sutter, I believe he can score 40 goals. Maybe even more.

Under Sutter, after the Carter trade, the Kings went 29-9-4 including playoffs. At that pace, over the course of 82 games they would finish with 121 points.

I don't expect the kings to fight for the presidents trophy at all. The energy required with the forechecking they are more built for the playoffs than the Regular season imo.

If we stay healthy I do even with the target on our backs. We will have 3 lines that can score. And two that should put up very good numbers. I just hope Quick gets some rest during the season and JB gets around 20 games.

Quick, IMO, should play about 55-65 games. I have no worries when JB is in net. Quick can't be a workhorse like last year. He needs rest also.

I think the record they put up under Sutter in the regular season is much more realistic, 61 points in 49 games projects to about 102 points in a full season, which should be more than enough to win the division.

The team will probably have a Stanley Cup hang over to contend with as well.

Yeah, unfortunately I think the Nucks will take first in the west again. Kings should definitely be favorites in the pacific

Makes the most sense. We have no room for forwards anymore. Suter would allow us to let Scuderi go.

Sign Suter, then trade Bernier+Scuderi to Edmonton for their first an third round pick next year?

Fantasy land though

Scuderi and Gagne both have one year left. That alone would cover, or almost cover, Suter.

Yeah. But I was just saying that if we signed Suter we really wouldnt need scuderi. If I was a video game GM in that scenario I would just trade him now. BUt I realize in the real world you dont trade a guy like Scuderi after you just won a cup with him, because among other things it is a slimy thing to do.

Here is where the craziness really comes into play. If we can just get .5 goals more per game and keep our defense where it is at we would have had the third best goals differential in the league. As well as the 10th best offense. If we can get the 2.85 gg as we had in the playoffs we would be tied for second and have the 8th best offense in the league.
And to be honest I don't see why with the team as we have it right now can't realistically put up 3 gg and keep our defense rock solid. Which would put us at numbers 1 and 4.

I agree. I would never trade Scuderi. I was just stating, in the long-term we might have room for him.

Rumors are that Anaheim wants at least a 2nd line center in return for Ryan.

For ***** and giggles, would you trade Carter+ for Ryan?

Why would the Kings do that? You are helping out your divisional rival and I don't think it makes the Kings much better if at all. Is Bobby Ryan a better player than Carter? That isn't a rhetorical question either. I really don't know but Carter does give the Kings even more depth at the center position should someone get hurt. It is good to have that kind of redundancy in the line up. Lewis, Richardson, Fraser, Stoll, Carter, Richards and Kopi can all play center. Maybe I'm being a homer but I think Carter is more valuable than Bobby Ryan. Center is a much harder position to fill than wings. The fact that the Ducks are willing to tradea first line winger for a second line center should tell you all you need to know about the value of both positions.
