Given current goalies I think I'd rather be in our position though, thanks for your concern though.

I would rather be stuck with Crawford at 2.66M for 2 yrs and Emery at 1 yr then Bryzgalov for 8 yrs and Leighton

When Crawford sucks maybe they can upgrade at deadline ,, Flyers are stuck with Bryzgalov

Bryz has proven that he can play better than Crawford throughout his career. Flyers will be fine with him in net.

Bryz has proven to be terrible under pressure

Good luck

You're right, but when he did play, he played very well.

Now all we need to do is get him to do some dryland agility/flexibility work and hire francois allaire. He looked like a pretty different goalie then.

I mentioned this on the Flyers board. 29 teams passed on Leighton during recall waivers a year ago at a 775,000 cap hit and the Flyers sign him for 900,000.

Wow, its as if there are things the fans dont see from the management behind the scenes. Almost as if the GM knows something we don't know... Hm....

Please, you have got to be kidding. Holmgren knows so much he gave away the two final components to the Kings' Cup winning team when he simply needed to add a decent goalie to those components. Instead, he trades Carter and Richards rather than kep them and get a Vokoun or equivalent. Heck, the year you all lost to the Hawks, Holmgren could have traded JvR for Halak but decided against it. In ll honesty, I think the Flyer fans DO know more than Holmgren about how to improve this team.

I will say, though, that I anticipate Bryzgalov rebounding and having a good season. He is not as bad as he was last year. Man, to think of all of the "untouchable" Flyers players that have been traded in the last year is insane. Hmmm...you might be right, your GM might know something your fans don't...

This is probably one of the worst tandems I've seen the Flyers go into the regular season with in 20 years. It says a lot that you'd rather be in this position. Hope springs eternal though, I suppose. I feel for Flyers fans and their goaltending almost like I feel for Cubs fans.

Of course he did. It was easy to come in off the bench behing Giguere when there wasn't any pressure. That's hilarious...using a picture of Bryz the Backup hoisting the Cup to bolster an argument.

Also, please make this the last post in this thread. I'm getting sick of seeing that Philly signed Leighton and want this to go to page 2.

there's nothing really wrong with the signing per se. the caphit is ok, but I can't envision Leighton coming to the rescue for an imploding Bryzgalov.

Homer got into a bidding war with himself again, what else is new?

Let the five-hole goal orgy begin.
