Ribiero would have been perfect

But then were would frans Go ?
Boyes will be on the wing.

Concerning Frans he'll either be the 2nd or 3rd line center depending on if they sign someone else.

That's what preseason is for.

I think 2 and 3 are going to be essentially interchangeable anyway (as far ES time is concerned).

I agree with Frans on the second line. I know they won't sign Jokinen that's why I'm hoping for a guy like Langkow. He's not the best but he can produce(say 35-45 points) and it gives the team flexibility if they need to change/move guys up and down the lines.

Moulson-Tavares-Bailey
Okposo-Langkow-Boyes
Grabner-Nielsen-Martin

I could live with that as a top 9. Plus there is flexibility in the line up.
Langkow of 5 years ago is what we needed. Langkow of right now is essentially Richard Park. I don't want that at all.

Yes, there is room. And if there wasn't, we would make room.

Right now, this team has Moulson and Tavares as legit top-6 players.
Nielsen is a borderline 2nd/3rd liner.

Then we have potential. Boyes, Okposo, Grabner, Bailey. Right now, we need three of those players to produce on a consistent basis. Okposo did it for month long stretches last year. Grabner did it for a few months the year before. Boyes is a few years away from the last time he was a consistent contributor. Bailey had a good week last year and one the year before.

Right now, one of those players will be on the top line, and two more on the second line. It is way too much to ask that three of the four drastically improve from last year.

Strong two-way player, has good puck skills, playmaking ability, hockey sense, work ethic ... and he's still very young player, and UFA next summer. Last season he played very good, much better than his points say. He only needs consistency in his game.

Sign Jokinen
Sign Salvador
Trade Grabner/Okposo, Nino/1st 2013 and DeHann/Donovan for Ryan

And I'll be really excited and expecting to make the playoffs. Plus we will barely reach the cap floor.

But it won't happen...

When your at a party and all you can reign in is fat girls, then you better be prepared to do some hoggin(this is my Isles offseason motto).

honestly I think I'd rather have Jason Arnott than Daymond Langkow. and I really don't want Jason Arnott here.

Besides Jokinen isn't all that hot. There's no good reason why the Isles shouldn't be able to get a player like that.

Didn't Arnott have a good season with the Blues? I don't know how much he's got left in the tank, but I'd take a 1-year flier on him. Gives the kids some more development time at their appropriate level.

Well, Snow hasnt filled his quote of having one over-the-hill former US Olympian on the team so it's a good possibility we acquire Jamie Langenbrunner at some point.
