Crabb wasn't tough enough for a bottom-6 role here.

He's not skilled enough for top-6.

I liked him, sure, but I wasn't hoping we'd resign him unless it was for the Marlies... and Colborne

I thought Crabb was bright spot for leafs
Good bottom 6-just add tougher linemates
11 goals- 4 game winners -fairly cheap

I dont get it

Burke -fans you'll never get anyplace with him--just not progressive

Completely useless player. Glad he's off the payroll.

Well he wasn't useless by any means but he can be replaced from within and if not, guys like him aren't too steep in price.

When we tried to win, he was invisible. When we tanked, he was our star. Not talented enough for the top 6, not defensive/big/physical for the bottom 6. Overall I'm not going to lose much sleep that he's gone, especially since a player like d'amigo can step in his spot. But I wish crabb the best of luck

I'm glad he's gone, he was only decent for that stretch when he would get called up, then meh after that. Most annoying thing about him is he doesn't know how to throw a hit with his shoulder, always backs into the player with his lower body. I found his hitting to be quite soft for a grinder, if we was more mean/and physically punishing he would be worth keeping.

I appreciated the energy he brought to the ice, on a shift-to-shift basis, and I wish him well.

That said, I think Komarov and Brown are going to drive teams insane. Looking forward to that

I preferred Crabb to any one of LACK. Even though he was inconsistent his cap hit and one year term were small and very low risk. And Crabb should have made the team well before any of LACK but poor contract signings and trades by Burke forced him to let Crabb walk and retain (or buy out worse performing players).

Not a big loss but it is becoming clear, how these big contracts that Burke hands out during the past UFA frezny (or acquires in trades) hurts the leafs. We don't know how many other players/trade he could not participate in and perhaps how this even creates a leaf culture of entitlement.

Wish him the best. He played well in his role here. Hopefully he can continue that with Washington.

That post above is a bit unnecessary isn't it? Lol.

Crabb was a good utility guy, but not at the price he went for yesterday.

I'll always look back with fondness on the shorty he scored on Ryan Miller.

Thats all I got. Good luck Joey.

Too bad we didn't have room for him. I really liked Crabb's play. He puts up decent numbers given his ice-time , solid 2-way game, finished checks and got to the net. Glad to see him have an opportunity in Washinton. Good luck!

Couldn't resist a little Bob Dylan. When I first spied a thread lamenting Joey Crabb, my thoughts went to Bobby D's immortal "Joooeeeyy. Jooooo-oooo-oooo-eeeeeyyy!!!"

I was itching to get rid of crabb... Waste of a roster spot. Better served to a defensive specialist.
