Regarding Semin's penalties; Are elbowing, boarding penalties better than hooking and tripping penalties?

Duh. They are "grinder"(I'm gonna assume 85% of the NHL are grinder type players now since Parise is one) type penalties. Not lazy, Eastern European non-leadership calibre penalties.

I think you need to go back and read the grinder comment in context.

Good to see the SDF still fighting the good fight for their enigmatic role model.

Dreger tweeted that in a package for Ryan Ducks want a few players with a 2C included. Laich or Mojo are the only viable options, but would much much rather move Laich. Johansson's pretty darn close to a core piece IMO. But, you also have to give to get.

Yes. Parise plays harder than Semin. We know that.

That doesn't make Parise a grinder.

You'd have to think that a combination of Laich, Green and a pick could get it done.

If that's the case, then it's a no brainier.......get Ryan !

I'd much rather trade Mojo if we are going balls to the walls this season. Laich has more value right now than Mojo does to the play on the ice. However, I don't think we are even trying to win this season, so, I'd deal Laich for a few more years of Ryan.

**** Semin's Defense Front... we're the People's Front of Semin.

"Besides goals, assists, wins, penalties.... what has Semin ever really done for us?"

"There's the Bongos..."

"Ah piss off"

When a player has a lot of aggression penalties like elbowing, boarding, charging, roughing, etc., it's typically indicative that he brings a physical element to the game.

Not a chance.....way too much youth to give up on.....Gormley's insane for thinking that's even an option.
Wow what a horrid proposal!

Caps would be crazy to do it IMO. Orlov may well be/become soon enough our best D, if not part of it and he's an all around stud. I'd move Green before I'd move him but maybe that's because I've watched Orlov for years and he's one of my favorite players. Kuz is self-explanatory.

How about Mojo and one of Green/Laich and our 2013 1st for Ryan?
