I'm starting to figure it's between PIT and NJ (from the lame rumor-tweets I'm reading).

Seems like MIN is only interested in proving they wont wont lose out due to $$$.

Parise quits Hockey, signs a 140 million dollar deal to star in every Steven Spielberg movie made for the next 10 years.

Is the word still no decision today and simply meeting with teams on his short list?

Decision will likely be later today. It's gonna be awhile.

2012 and 2013 are different calendar years.

It's $24 million in less than 365 days ($26 million with his first year salary actually).

I believe I heard on TSN radio that the Flyers have made huge offers to both Parise and Suter. I could see it going down. A cup contender in a great hockey market and the intrigue of playing with Giroux for Parise and with Timonen or Coburn for Suter........it could happen

We should start a poll for what time an announcement is made. I'm betting around 6 pm.

you do realize this whole thing started just 25 hours ago. Hardly a long time considering the potential outcomes. What did you expect?

No one's forcing you to put your life on hold waiting for this decision, are they?

They have.

Crazy how they even have space to do it, but I guess Pronger on LTIR along with maybe letting go of Hartnell does the trick. Not sure if trading Hartnell is even necessary - I'm not that familiar with their cap situation.

Exciting for Philly fans, I guess. As a fan of a team with little chance of getting even one of these guys, it's a little annoying to watch. Reminds me of the Miami Heat a bit.

You must not remember how long Kovalchuk took to decide.

If you guys don't think Russo is a credible source then you are an idiot, plain and simple.

No confirmation on this yet, could be wrong, but I'm led to believe the Red Wings are out of the Parise race.

The Fourth Period isn't very reliable, but if this is true, wow.

I don't think it is that, really.

I think it is just that he isn't viewed as more authoritative than most respectable beat writers--who generally are sourced from their own organizations, and don't have the same sort of league-wide contacts that McKenzie and others do.

I believe thay have approx. 10 million in cap space with Voracek to sign.

IMO, this does go down, I see Holmgren trying to move Briere and possibly Meszaros.
