Something that's always bothered me is the way that after the Pens/Flyers game w/ the missed icing call, the league actually came out and said they weren't happy with the reffing...but said nothing when the on ice officials missed the Hossa hit, even though one of them was standing right there.

So not only does he not get penalized in the game, he doesn't get thrown out of the game and now Torres suspension gets reduced, what in the world did Hossa do to get this kind of disrespect?

My advice to Torres the first time PHX plays the Hawks, keep your head up.

Q made a comment about it, and was fined for it.

I love the Hawks but they're soft as butter. No one will do anything to Torres.

And it's probably for the best. That goonery is misplaced in today's game.

He's an idiot. I wouldn't put a retaliatory cheap shot past him...but he'll probably just injure himself in the process again.

The original length and the length of reduction appear to both be tied to specific timelines.

25 games ensures Torres does not play for the rest of the playoffs.

8 games in 12-13 ensures that Torres does not play against the Hawks until February.

Bettman wants to make consessions to the NHLPA and make sure this is not an issue for more supplimental disipline early in the season perhaps.

What did Torres do exactly to deserve a lessening of his suspension?

Repeat offender and made a star player be taken to the hospital on a stretcher, literally in front of Bettman's own eyes.

I think that's a joke. The problem I have with this is not the 4 games he will miss, I have a problem with him getting the money for this 4 games.
