Should he be shopped? Absolutely. But I don't think we should trade him just to get rid of him. His value is at an all-time low.
I agree, but I think there are still a lot of teams that would bite.
Also, trading at the deadline is basically only an option if the Sharks are not going to make the playoffs. If the Sharks are not going to make teh playoffs, they should trade him now to hopefully correct that.
No one has brought up that he became a turnover machine. That goes beyond the issues of slow and lack of defense.
++ Its the nature of all these threads. You can't talk about a trade without talking about a return. He shouldn't be handed away, but he is one of the available names more than likely, should the right trade present itself.

I put no, but I agree with this. Too many posters are making like this team would be better without Clowe even if we got only futures for him. I don't agree. You trade him if the return makes the team better. Just like most of our players. The only player I think we should trade just to get him off the team is Handzus.
Bundle him with someone else and gimme two 2nd line tweeners.
Canucks fan coming in peace...we have lots of 2nd line tweeners to offer (Raymond, Higgins, Hansen, Booth). What sort of value would you be looking for in getting rid of Clowe?

I told ya so. I was right all along!
I could do without another trade to a conference rival for a couple sacks of ****. Please trade to an Eastern Conference team unless the offer is unbeatable.
I'm being sarcastic. Of course they wouldn't. Sharks got fleeced on that trade.
I don't trust Wilson with anything less than elite talent trades, so Clowe for some 2nd/3rd liners kinda scares me. He and McLellan aren't on the same page.
I don't think it's so much that people WANT him shipped out, it's more about him being the only one of the top-6 that's a)tradeable (No NMC) b) expendable (Pavs and Havlat more valuable).
However, it's sort of a catch-22. His value is low coming off a sub-par scoring season, so we won't get as much for him, but if he had had an awesome season, we wouldn't be talking about trading him. As much as I want to see a shake up in the top six, I say have him come back. Address some of the stupid penalties he takes sometimes, and have someone else step in and take the scraps, and give him another shot with Havlat playing a full season. I think last year WAS a sub-par year for Clowe, and we'll see him come back to form in 12-13.
