I believe someone reported that the Habs made an offer for Parise, but I don't think we were ever heavy contenders.

Again...how the hell was he going to prove anyone wrong playing the minutes, and with the linemates he was?

I don't know if Palushaj will someday be a 50 point guy, or if he'll spend the next 12 years being an AHL allstar...but to be disappointed in him because he didn't put up numbers in the situation he was playing in is just asinine.

That would be extremely shocking since we have NOT been mentioned by anybody as one of the teams that made an offer to either.

Well, Nick Kyrpeos just tweeted this:

"Crazy hearing today of 100M+ being thrown around by #NHL teams in last ditch Parise/Suter effort. Shows how desperate teams are 2 get better"

So...

Were we ever talked about in the Cammalleri sweepstakes though? I remember it coming as a bit of shock (atleast to me).

I'm not even talking about points here. I'm talking about speed, good passes and shots on net, things like that. It is understandable that he would not score and get points with 4th liners but he could still show us some good assets.

Kypreos is typically reliable, though. Don't think we should discount what he says. It's possible the Habs weren't actually shopping PK, just getting a grip for what he's worth. Teams apparently do that all the time (see; Dustin Brown).

It's the fat lady, but fair enough. I think I might die of happiness if we got Parise, so maybe it's best we don't.

Again, how is he supposed to showcase any of that stuff when he's getting 6-8 ES minutes a game (or less) and playing with such poor offensive players?

I've seen plenty from Palushaj to make me think he may take a step and become a solid top 6 guy in the NHL. Not sure what you were watching, or how you managed to make any sort of judgmetns in his limited playing time.

Doesn't matter if it's through free agency or trade, but this club HAS to add a top 6 forward. Not too many options out there in FA other than Mueller..I don't know about you guys but I certainly don't want Jokinen or Huselius.

I'll say it again, if we go into the season with the lineup we have, we're going to have a very hard time scoring goals. That should be obvious to everyone.

Parise Plekanec Cole
Pacioretty Desharnais Bourque
Moen Eller Gionta
Prust White Armstrong

Man, I'd love to see a big scary mother****er instead of Armstrong, but it would still look solid on paper.

I didnt want Parenteau, but its clear to me if they're not making offers on Jagr then they dont seem to be very interested in having Pleks play with anyone.
