Does Scott's signing suggest a different setup?

I don't know what it suggests about the lineup....

But what I suggest is that, if this is the extent of our Free Agent Frenzy, John Scotts nickname be Big Splash.

Doubt it. Kaleta's a home town kid..He loves Buffalo and seems to really like his role on the team. I can't see why he and the Sabres wouldn't be able to come to terms.

Scott was signed to $600K and 1 year term. Why would anyone think he'll be anything more than insurance in Rochester to be recalled whenever issues about the Sabres' team toughness pop up?

Seriously, projecting him into the Sabres' roster as a regular makes no sense IMO - he sounds like a bigger version and possibly better fighter than Peters, but probably just as minimally used. Wasting a 4th line spot on him would be foolish.

Chew on this as a Boston-specific lineup:

Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Gerbe-Ott-Kaleta
Scott-McCormick-Tropp

Not so easy to push around.

Because we actually understand the reason behind the signing. You're truly out to lunch if you think he will be in Rochester.

I'm guessing you haven't watched his fights. He pretty much destroys everyone he fights.

As others have mentioned, it creates an opportunity to double shift guys like Vanek or Pominville.

Some can't see the bigger picture.
