Also wait a minute, Parise has a massive ego for not making a decision and using a press conference to say that, but Schultz doesn't, for not signing with the team that drafted him as an unproven kid out of college and holding what was essentially a king's court with a ton of teams?
I'm not following. I see nothing wrong with what he did, unless I haven't been following the whole situation and he said something else. It's stupid, but the media is mostly to blame. They eat this **** up.

Parise has had a full year to research cities, school systems, taxes and neighborhoods of 27 other NHL cities. There's nothing groundbreaking during these sales pitches.

I don't think he called for a press conference, he just exited the building and reporters were camped out there so he made a statement. They probably wouldn't let him near a car without saying something.

I dont blame him one bit for letting everyone know he hasnt made a decision and hasnt set a timetable. How people are spinning this into being ego-driven is a sad commentary on our fanbase to be honest. Sure seems like hes doing it to get the info-whores off his back for a bit while he wrestles with a decision that will effect the rest of his life.
If you're complaining about that, I think you need to look in the mirror and get a clue.
Parise has every right to take his time. He also has several responsibilities as a public figure. Holding a press conference to announce nothing is a dick move to the people who help make him a household name.
