Flyers sign Cullen Eddy

Per Dean Grillo

Congrats to Cullen Eddy on signing his 1st NHL contract with the Philadelphia Flyers today

Mod edit:

Tim McManus ‏@PSPhantoms

Quote:
Very well-deserved to see Cullen Eddy get first NHL deal. Great locker room guy, very reliable, physical player for Phantoms.

Why have we signed an ECHL player to an NHL contract?

So I guess that means the Flyers are officially out of the Parise and Suter sweepstakes. I mean, landing Cullen Eddy is huge! He plays hockey, right?

Obviously liked what he showed on his AHL contract this past season. Split time with Phantoms and Greenville in ECHL.

Who? This is probably the last time I ever hear this guys name (I bet MSE still has a five page dossier on him). Good for him though.

Maybe it means we're in and need a guy to fill a roster spot at the absolute minimum

Our second acquired right handed shot from the point in a week! Is this really the Flyers?

Well, I guess those contract slots don't mean a thing. There is no limit, right?

I know last year when he was sent down to the ECHL, McManus said he was outplaying most of the Phantoms but was sent down strictly because most of them had NHL contracts and he did not. According to his tweets Cullen is a great team guy and was very well liked by Paterson.

I don't remember much about him from the Phantoms games I watched but I guess thats a good thing

I was actually thinking that Cullen Eddy sounds like a fake cover name.

Just searched his name and found a thread about Matt Read from here from last year... Was funny reading some of the posts questioning if we'll ever hear his name again and saying he has no chance as a top 9 forward

In that tradition then, I fully expect Eddy to be our top scoring D this season... Right handed shot playing next to Kimo? Gotta be

he's got enough on his plate, trying to save bella's life all the time. also, how would he play in the middle of a lit arena? his skin would obviously sparkle, revealing his true nature....

I'm not sure if he's supposed to be a killing machine or just to drive female fans into a frenzy and clog the ice. If he can read minds I would gladly play him all 60 mins or as a goalie. Universe that.

This and the Leighton signing can only mean the Flyers are moving to the AHL.
