With the increase of the cap, i'ts not so bad.

6.5 now is aprox. equal to 5.5 before the increase.

Get it!?
Sorry, that's not what you said:

I love the comparisons to Quick, Ward, etc. being more successful than Price.

It has nothing to do with the team that was in front of them right!? This is such bull ****.
You strongly suggested their successes were due to the team in front of them, didn't say anything about them being important parts.

Price is 4th highest paid in NHL for goalies.

There is no more ?"developing", fans will expect results now .

This team as i said isn't built to do that, i hope this doesn't come unglued.

I was a huge Price fan and wanted him over halak but i'll take a halak at 4 mil before a Price at 6.5.

I can't believe 6.5 for an just above average goaler that's your one bad move Bergevin.
Not...sure...if...serious...

Hahaha.

Pardon me for laughing at you, but I just found it amusing that you knock Price for having gotten ''Rinne money'' then go on to claim that he's won one playoff series in his career.

Guess it only matters how many playoff series a guy has won if he's on your team and you need to kncok his salary eh?

Cause for all of Rinne's greatness over Price (not to mention 4.75 years of age older) he has a whopping 1 more series win than Price.

Put it this way, Carey Price's cap hit is 800k less than Scott Gomez's infamous "cap crippling" contract. I love Price, but that cap hit is steep.

goalies that make more than price: lundqvist, luongo, rinne, bryzgalov

none have a cup and are significantly older.

I apologize, I assumed that was HEAVILY implied. but, I guess I'll start looking at the world in black and white like you. There's a whole lot of greys out there!

But, you are SO not the worst offender in this thread. Price worth 4 Mill...are you ****ing kidding me!?!?!?!?!

The solution? If we were going to pay 6.5 m for a 15th place goaltender we should have kept Halak then.
Price is better but sure as hell not 2.5 mill better.

Price the new Bryzgalov getting a huge paycheck he don't deserve. I'm pissed right now. What a ****in horrible contract.

When we say something wrong about Jesus Price here we are always pictured as haters. Price didn't do jack in the nhl and gets a 6.5 mil contract? Close to 1 mil more than Quick? That's hilarious

He was average last year and one of the major reason why we ended up in the lottery bad save percentage could not keep a lead and was terribad in the shootout. Sure he is well worth his 6.5.

In 2 years, we'll compare Price's contract with other top goalie and we'll feel lucky

This contract has nothing to do with the increasing cap to 72M. Nope, nothing.

right and this is Montreal right?

Now Loungo has been run out of Vancouver....Bryz fans are on his back already ,he is about a season from getting run out .....

Price in Montreal he got no room to falter now, the fans will run him out .

These goalie's are good but you start talking 40 million or 60 million, there's a different expectation ..

As i said, the days of Price still developing are over today ./

It's an overpayement for what he has done so far...

BUT, a fair cost for what we can expect from him in the next 6 seasons. He is only 25 (next month), he,s got the skills and talent, and can play nearly 400 games over the next 6 years.
