Yeah, it's not looking like a good day, especially when Howson already said he's only looking at 3rd liners, no better way to fix the worst team in the league than to stand pat with the same roster.

Not really, if you can trade Nash for some nice prospects from NYR or Philly and then sign someone like Kostitsyn to replace some of his offense, we're a better team than we were yesterday.

Jordan Staal signs for 10 years and $60 million. Nash would look really good as a Hurricane.
Give us Ryan Murphy and Jeff Skinner plus a 1st and Howson can call it a day.

PS - How many times would Rimer confuse Ryan Murphy and Ryan Murray?

Parise wants $28 million in the first 2 years of his contract. I think only the Minnesota Wild will offer that.

here's an interesting little bracket from tsn.ca.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=9706

Wonder where all the jackets are?

I figure Crosby to win; should be interesting to see rest of Final 4

Good to see a team that's been struggling for the last 5 years get some big time free agents, gives hope to the CBJ if they ever try to sign a big time FA.

Must be their love of the north. Parise home and Suter has farm in Wisconsin. Glad they didn't go to Pitt or some other team that would have been a powerhouse with them plus existing stars.

I'm sure Harding is really pissed he signed there

Glad they didn't go to Detroit, but the Wings will probably just go out and get Alex Semin now.

I hope that the Wings do sign Semin. It would be like infecting a computer with a virus. It eventually stops working correctly.

At least now the Wild won't need crazy shenanigans to screw over and beat the Jackets anymore.

Its gonna really suck for Preds fans after Weber walks away for nothing next year, too.

Wild is a better team now for sure, that's obvious. However, I'm not sure this instantly makes them a Cup contender. They still have some other issues to address. Good for them and their fans. A good day to be a Wild fan.

As someone else pointed out in the other thread, I'm not sure this is going to create a frenzy to get Nash. Certainly not in the East, at least to the point of desperation. In the West, the elite teams probably feel this makes the Wild relevant, but probably not scared of them.

It will be curious to see how this plays out now.

Minnesota is just doing what Columbus did exactly 10 years ago: sign the two biggest prizes in free agency.

Luke Richardson and Scott Lachance were the two biggest prizes, at least according to Doug MacLean.
