Buffalo in on Nash sounds like another attempt to drum up competition. Whenever we hear the Rangers won't give up certain players another team pops up out of nowhere
"All 30 teams are now part of the bidding for Rick Nash. In related news, Scott Howson has informed the Rangers that the asking price has increased to 15 first round picks, Ryan Callahan, Marc Staal, Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan, and credit for their 1994 Stanley Cup victory."

That last part me literally choke on my pizza. ****ing hilarious!

@Aportzline: #CBJ would love D Ryan McDonagh. Any club would. But if McDonagh is in the deal, he's the centerpiece of it. #CBJ need the centerpiece ...
@Aportzline: ... to be a forward or two. They are desperate for scoring, feel pretty good about their back end, both today and in terms of the future.
Put another way: there's no way at #CBJ - #NYR deal is getting hung up on McDonagh. #CBJ are not demanding he be part of the deal.
That's a little better. Still won't give up Stepan or Kreider for Nash, though. Regardless of how many teams that aren't on Nash's list Howson parades through here.

They are high in Columbus.
not willing to give up Stepan (unless we find something in another deal to make losing him work) for Nash, but HONESTLY. Stepan + dubi + a pick is not a bad deal for either.

RT @mattextreme: @Aportzline you & Howson are dreaming if you think McD is in deal. / Reading comprehension is a big problem in this country
But just as happened approaching the Feb. 27 trade deadline, just as happened two weeks ago leading up to the Entry Draft, Columbus general manager Scott Howson yesterday continued his attempts to pry the unpryable off the Rangers’ roster from GM Glen Sather through a mixture of absurd demands and propaganda delivered through third parties to suggest a bidding war that simply did not exist was in effect for No. 61’s services.
The Parise contract does affect the rangers. Howson has been waiting all along for Parise to sign. He really believes teams who dont get parise will panic and overpay for Nash. Same thing with Ryan.
I still don't understand how Parise has an effect on Nash. Right now there are 4 teams rumored in on Parise. NJ, Pitt, Minny, and Chicago.
Let's say he signs with Pitt.
So Minny, NJ, and Chicago miss out. How can they over pay for Nash if they're not on his list of teams he would be traded to?
Right now we know it's NYR, San Jose, Philly,& Detroit interested in Nash. Most likely none of them are getting Parise.
So why would they suddenly over pay after some one they weren't getting anyway signs somewhere else?
That's where I disagree...I don't need an update of his situation, anymore than I need one of Semin, Jagr or even Mueller. Nothing's happened, until something does, then there's the update. Instead, we get mindless speculation, and a coronation of the Pens because, OMIGOD he's going there. I don't need a Parise update unless it's a signing. Have your press conference when you've actually signed a contract. Shut up until then.

eh, depends, if the media was hounding me all day long looking for an update, I might just do what he did to stop it. Things on the net can get miscontrued (if he even uses twitter) or hacked, if he says it on live tv, you can know its coming straight from him no BS. could be what he was thinking.
