interesting that Buffalo moved one of their centers. I thought for sure they were in on Ryan.

Salary would be the issue. Anaheim wants cheap young players like Stepan. They would probably want Hodgson from Buffalo.

#CBJ would love D Ryan McDonagh. Any club would. But if McDonagh is in the deal, he's the centerpiece of it. #CBJ need the centerpiece ...
You want McDonagh as the centerpiece?

. . .

This should be Sather's response:

Is Howson negotiating through Portzline?

Ponderous

They're demanding Kreider and Stepan.

Yeah that makes sense but if they want a 2nd line center who's cheap they're really limiting their market.

They are high in Columbus.

That's a little better. Still won't give up Stepan or Kreider for Nash, though. Regardless of how many teams that aren't on Nash's list Howson parades through here.

not willing to give up Stepan (unless we find something in another deal to make losing him work) for Nash, but HONESTLY. Stepan + dubi + a pick is not a bad deal for either.

So the team desperate for scoring acquires Nash only to give up scoring in deal. Where is the net gain in goals?

But just as happened approaching the Feb. 27 trade deadline, just as happened two weeks ago leading up to the Entry Draft, Columbus general manager Scott Howson yesterday continued his attempts to pry the unpryable off the Rangers’ roster from GM Glen Sather through a mixture of absurd demands and propaganda delivered through third parties to suggest a bidding war that simply did not exist was in effect for No. 61’s services.

I still don't understand how Parise has an effect on Nash. Right now there are 4 teams rumored in on Parise. NJ, Pitt, Minny, and Chicago.

Let's say he signs with Pitt.

So Minny, NJ, and Chicago miss out. How can they over pay for Nash if they're not on his list of teams he would be traded to?

Right now we know it's NYR, San Jose, Philly,& Detroit interested in Nash. Most likely none of them are getting Parise.

So why would they suddenly over pay after some one they weren't getting anyway signs somewhere else?

Portzline is a hack. The whole Nash debacle he is just using to get his name out there. Thank god we have like 20 different beat writers.
