Portzline is a hack. The whole Nash debacle he is just using to get his name out there. Thank god we have like 20 different beat writers.
Yeah, I just sent him a Tweet and called him out on it. I know I won't get a response, but I had to do it.

Flogging a dead horse (alternatively beating a dead horse in some parts of the Anglophone world) is an idiom that means a particular request or line of conversation is already foreclosed or otherwise resolved, and any attempt to continue it is futile; or that to continue in any endeavour (physical, mental, etc.) is a waste of time as the outcome is already decided.
Parise going "home" is a nice, feel-good story. But he doesn't vault Minny past the 11 or so teams in the conference who are further along than they are. They had a prime Gaborik, and outside of 2003 and 2007, did very little.
Minny has some very good prospects in the pipeline, but they're not ready yet. If Parise can handle two, three, maybe four years of losing, negative press and coach firings until Minny can field a legit team, then more power to him.
It would be nice if he's honest in the presser. They rarely are, unless you're talking about Ozzie Guillen or Charles Barkley.
