Foo Foo is losing his touch. Chop chop.

I agree that Murray's departure though was more of a contributor to the Kings slow start than Doughty missing camp.

Who cares if the ship almost sunk. The pumps were fully operational and after the Carter trade it was full steam ahead.

This is an article that discusses the season before the trade.

I think that's his point. How often do you want to read a new article about something that hypothetically could have happened but didn't several months ago?

Well written weak content.

Had a good beat but ya can't dance to it.

I disagree with the premise.

Doughty's concussion had more to do with it than anything else and that was that.

Doughty didn't have a concussion this season; he had a concussion last season.

It was a shoulder injury this year.

The article had some good points in it, but a lot of it is just over-analyzing.

My son said it best during a December game..."these guys don't connect on their passes." I told him "yes, because they flat out suck." I was frustrated at the lack of communication...I thought the teamwork was there, but the passer and the receiver just weren't communicating well.

Then came Sutter, and it got better. After the Carter trade, all the guys got slotted in lines that made them even better at offensive zone passing. And in playoffs, they put on absolute clinics in stick-to-stick, on tape crisp passing that was a joy to watch.

In all my years of watching hockey, I had never witnessed such an in-season turnaround. Sure the relentless hitting, defensive zone checking, and forechecking all played a big part in their historic playoff run, but I believe their incredible improvement in simply and consistently connecting on their passes was the biggest factor of all.
