Roy got dealt for Ott and Pardy...........Rangers can find a similar deal around Dubinsky I would bet. Bring a LW back. I expect something like this instead of Nash
Irregardless of that posters question, Dubinsky does have value. He isn't just a salary dump scrap.
I never said Dubinsky didn't have ANY value, but he's not going to be the center piece IMO unless we add 2 more roster players. something like dubi, hag, del zotto for nash, but than del zotto IMO would be the biggest piece.

cant really deal DZ as the D needs to be deep and to me he moves to RD if they cant find anyone. It may be a risk but if Sauer can come back then everything is dandy. Erixon can team with him on the 3rd pair

If your trading MDZ, I don't see Sather moving Hagelin too. Creating too many wholes. It'd tell Howsen to shove it if he proposed that. I'd rather run the risk of how well Semin would play under Torts then make a trade like that.
That many assets PLUS that cap hit doesn't mix. Be one step forward two steps back.
weren't you the one saying we need an impact scorer to be a legit contender? and thats your offer for Nash? not getting it done.
My best offer regardless would be
Dubi, Erixon, Miller, 1st
But I'm also flexible, so we could talk about players like Hagelin, McILrath, Thomas, Anisimov.. There has to be something there to get a deal done. But somebody is choosing to delay the inevitable.
At this point in time Redden and Drury would be the two roster players I'd like to send back. This is not just a joke either. $7.8 mil per for the next 6 years is a prohibitive cap hit--something that Howson and some Rangers/Bluejackets fans refuse to get. $7.8 mil per means Nash has to hit 40 goals per pretty much every one of those seasons to make the cap hit worthwhile and there are no guarantees on that. And no excuses apart from major injury.

No one takes into account the fact that with Dubinsky going the other way (at 3M), Nash would only add about a little over 4M to the payroll over the next 3 years, and thats not even counting what else went the other way. Nash at 4M (added to the cap for the next 3 years) is a steal IMO. Don't just think about his cap hit, think about how much would be added to the payroll with the other assets going back, and its not very much.

no one looks at it this way, they see 7.8 and flip out. I agree with you

Which after the 3 years Dubi is signed would be true, Over the next 3 years though it works out to adding about 4+m to the cap for a 30-40 goal scorer.
Nash's contract and cap hit are debilitating. To try to frame it any other way is spin.
So now we are holding it up because we gotta replace Dubinsky? I'm sure that wouldn't be that difficult.. Also, if dubinsky were the top forward going back (lol not happening, just say for instance he was), Nash replaces dubinsky doesnt he?
