Most definitely. Even though I do think Nash is overall the better player but he is not 2.7M/year better.

The only thing is I really do not see Anaheim trading with a division rival. Plus if Clowe is involved in the deal I really do not want to face him 6 times a year.

Man, Semin would be another Albatross on this team. We already have inconsistency issues! I know you said rather than in comparison to how much you don't want Nash but many have expressed interest in Semin.

I wouldn't mind Semin if he came priced at a bargain with the risk accounted for in the contract, but that is unlikely to happen in the free agent frenzy. What he will likely sign for wouldn't be worth it, IMO.

Could he be better? Sure, but there aren't many first line players available for free. Definitely makes it a better move than trading half our team for Nash (.81 PPG RS // .75 PPG PO). Though in just 4 career playoff games.

If true, it's not too bad of a signing. He scores like a mofo in the A. Always possible that he can translate it into scoring in the NHL.
