IMO Fraser has the potential to become a meaner James Neal (or what Neal could have been if he hadn't lost a lot of his toughness)

I've said it before, he'll be the perfect replacement for Ryder. Doesn't do much else besides score.

If that's his one skill he could do far worse than be a pure scorer. He's absolutely Ryder's replacement.

If neither Fraser nor R. Smith nor Chiasson are ready, and we don't get a Jagr or Doan, then it might very well be a (hopefully) healthier Morrow on LW with Roy and Ryder/Eriksson/Whitney.
