I want both

along with shipping out as much of the rochester core as possible.

Ryan has a complete power forward game
Semin has a more well rounded game
Ryan uses his size physically (in a punishing fashion)
Semin uses his size positionally (in a puck possession fashion)

Too bad we don't have a coach that will be able to work with either.

which will hopefully get him fired...

if the "3 year window" turns out to be the last 3 years of suffering through the rochester core and Dary/Lindy... it will be suffering well worth it.

Wouldn't mind having both of course but if you get Semin and save the likes of Ennis, you have your proven top line scoring and the cheap young developing potential both in hand. Also of note is that Semin and Ryan are basically the same size. Ryan will throw more hits of course, but he's not the consistently physical player guys are fantasizing about.

You think Vanek drives Ruff nuts with lazy penalties... Semin might make his head explode.

Think I'm seeing where Jame would want him

Vanek - Hodgson - Semin
Leino - Ott - Pominville
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford
Gerbe - McCormick - Kaleta

That's a forward corp I would be pretty happy with after this offseason knowing who we have on the farm.

I'd prefer adding a center to take pressure off of Ennis/Hodgy but I could live with the above.

To be honest, I'd move Vanek fore futures if we could land Semin and Ryan.

I like that lineup. If Grigorenko seems ready in camp he could fit with Leino and Pommers and put Ott between Gerbe and Kaleta. And I haven't ruled out Adam yet either.

Anyway, with Roy gone I don't think there's a deal to be made with Ducks for Ryan. I don't imagine us giving up Ennis, and I wouldn't like it a bit. So if there is to be a top 6 winger coming in, it would have to be via FA, and that makes Semin the best fit. Unless there is someone out there that has flown below radar, or if Darcy and Lindy have a plan for a different lineup structure.

I'd dig Semin.

I thought he was the Caps best forward in the playoffs, just that Lord Jesus wouldn't exactly thrive in Hunter's system.

I disagree. Since Jesus saves, having a strong defensive approach would help him thrive.
