This whole thing is getting remarkably stale after 3 days, and the endless trade deadline saga. I don't want Nash, but some closure would be nice.

We can argue who the Yotes' "best" player is all day.

Bottom line -- Doan can still be a 1st line player and is a great guy to add.

...That's the first time i've ever seen that emoticon used.

I agree though. Just get it over with one way or another, in a way that won't hurt the team.

For that offer, he might send you his Back up goalie.

So what do the Rangers do if there is no Nash, Ryan or Semin?

Agreed, Doan is a rich man's Callahan IMO. Plays a bit dirty and seems like a *********, but I think he would win me over as a fan pretty quickly.

No matter how long this drags out, it pales in comparison to the Sundin garbage of a few years ago.

go into the season with a team that had 109 pts last year (1 shy of the presidents trophy)? Make a move at the deadline.

Doan.

Most attractive option even with all those players on the table imo.

I think Doan's agent has made it abundantly clear Doan does not want to leave. unless PHX leaves, he's not.

Play the kids. Maybe pickup a short term stop gap here or there.

Sather retires soon and who can blame him for trying to lay a long term foundation for the Rangers?

We didn't trade our farm system for aging vets. It's a safer position.

There are more than 3 players in the league. The team doesn't have to be complete in July.

I know it has been said a million times probably but I think Nash is a better player than Ryan RIGHT NOW... Ryan plays on a team loaded with offensive weapons and Nash plays with nobody... but looking down the line.. Ryan makes more sense for the Rangers..

However the Rangers best chance to win a cup is within the next 2 years with their top players in their prime..

True, but Sundin was involved in trade rumors as early as 2007, then he refused to waive his NTC, then he became a UFA, then he retired, then he magically signed with Vancouver in the middle of the 2008-09 season.

It was his refusal to waive an NTC to help out the Leafs simply because he didnt want to be a rental.
