I am too, but I'm talking about Kirill

If there anything against a prospect in the AHL from playing in the young stars game without playing any games in the NHL?

You shouldn't have to change your style set now, it's showing up for me and I have the default style set.

I think Lombardi will make it, and depending on if Leopold is eligable, Leopold too.

Alexander Semin.

Eminger and Gordon will be good but I doubt they get to go.

Too bad the young stars game couldn't be about good defense and hitting as well. Pretty sure that Exelby would make the cut if it were so.

But in an exhibition of the future of the game, the league probably doesn't want those players to get run at. A shame really, I wouldn't mind seeing it.

If nothing else, it would be fun as hell to watch. The NHL won't promote that sort of play outright, but they know as well as we do what attracts some of the fans.

Henrik Zetterberg should go if he is healthy. Rick Nash is a lock but I dont think you can play two years in a row (Thats why Kovalchuk wasnt there last year) and Rick could get the chance to go to the All Star game.

I'll try a Western team:

Lupul-Staal-King
Radulov-Lombardi-Hemsky
Rycroft-Stoll-Brown
Ruutu-Fritsche-Kesler

Bergeron-Liles
Daley-Eminger
Gleason-Hamhuis

Leighton
Andersson
If there has to be a third goalie, maybe someone gets called up from AHL like Bryzgalov or Leclaire.

How bout an Eastern too:

Hunter-Spezza-Ryder
Malone-Bergeron-Koltsov
Stajan-Horton-Mapletoft
Not sure on a fourth line. Maybe some AHLers will be called up like Vermette and would be put in. I know I'm forgetting alot of people.

Pitkanen-Martin
Komisarek-Hainsey
Hale-Orpik

Fleury
Raycroft(An exception made for him should happen)
Telqvist(sp?)

Staal is on the Canes, so he would be East.

Bouchard put in instead of Staal.

Also isn't Eminger on the Caps, making him an Eastern team player?

Usually they also have only one goalie...nothing stands out in my head for Western.

But, if an expection is made, Raycroft before Fleury.

How does that work? For some reason I wasn't thinking and thought Carolina and Washington were in the West. All cleared up now.

If the criteria is correct, they have some really dumb rules. You have to be on your first contract? Why? Vish is on his second, so he wouldn't be included.

I think the only rules should be 25 and under, period. The league can use it's own discretion about which young stars they want to show off.

And Lupul should definitely be going.

It's to limit players who have been in the league for 6 years and done nothing from being eligible for the game. They have to reduce the number of eligible players because there just aren't that many spots available for the Youngstars games. Despite the roster predictions, only 4 defenseman and 6 forwards along with one goalie make each squad.

I thought they picked two goalies now, following the Kovalchuk-Blackburn fiasco.

And it sounds more like getting young players in before we find out that they're GOING to do nothing in the league. It's dumb. You widen the candidates and you'll have better players to pick from.

The year following the massacre of Blackburn, only one goalie per side played. I would imagine that theme continues.
