Any half competent GM would have traded Nash a long time ago.

But we are dealing with the Red Skull.

$7.8M (for 6 more years) for a 70 points, 30 goals player is way too much IMO...
And to acquire Nash, you need to give away top prospects, players and draft picks...

Bobby Ryan

I don't understand why Nash is not the first target of Sather...

Come on, if you're going to do a comparison you can't be overflowing in bias.

Funny how you fail to mention all the consecutive seasons where Nash has broke 30 but it's an achievement for Bobby Ryan.

I don't know why were even entertaining howson. imo we should just sign semin 2 year 12-14 mill and see what he does, we don't need to give up assets and he's underrated defensively, he's not as horrible as he's made out to be. He's a dynamic scorer and will drastically help out PP by adding another true sniper. These 2 years will let us see if kreider developes as the superstar we think he can be and it'll give us time to see how semin fits into our system.

Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Semin-Stepan-Callahan
Hagelin-Dubinsky-Anisimov
Rupp-Boyle-Haley/Asham

-not too shabby for a crop of forwards

I do agree that signing Semin should be an option. Only thing is that Semin is a RW.

yes, but i do recall him playing the off wing quite often which is typical of right handed snipers.

The cap hit is not the same.

For a $5.1M cap hit, 60 points and 30 goals is fine.
For a $7.8M cap hit, I want more than a 70 points, 30 goal scorer.

It's obvious that the expectations are lower for the $5.1M player than for the $7.8M one...

I also recall him not knowing what the hell hes playing anywhere but the offensive zone.

No way I give that guy $6M+ on a multi-year deal.

Mirtle said it best..."Nash is a flawed asset". He's a good asset but the contract and the baggage make him less than a 5 star player. Columbus won't get the perfect offer from any team.

Can't picture Jagr being a Dallas Star for some reason. Just seems weird.

But Dallas is making some moves alright.

Indeed it's an achievement for Nash too. But I expect the 7.8M player to score at least 30 goals each year.

As per @Real_ESPNLeBrun. Jaromir Jagr has agreed to one-year, $4.5-million deal with the Dallas Stars.
