So I'm guessing we don't sign Doan on the 9th now

Ryder
Glennie

Meszaros

Sign Doan.
Trade Morrow and Robidas.
The purge is complete.

Yeah we like to pretend its Morrow and Robidas that need to go but it is really glennie we need to rid ourselves of

i'd prefer to keep ryder. He was our only consistent goal scorer last year.

That was another name I had considered.
I just threw that up sort of jokingly.

I dunno why you want to move Ryder. He played as well with Benn as he did with Ribs and was one of the few guys not part of the problem last season.

This is definitely true. I noticed a decline in his game as the season went along. But that's to be expected. If he helps the Stars finally get back to the playoffs no one is going to be complaining.

Yeah, but I can't see Dallas rolling with that top-6.
That is easily one of the least "hard to play against" groups in the NHL.

Guys I really don't think Morrow is going to get traded. Morrow is going to take over Ott's role from last season.

I believe he was injured in the playoffs. But yes I wouldn't be surprised if he wore out near the end of the season.

Sturm called in to The Ticket today and said the Stars went from gritty to friendly... I tend to agree, not sure how it will work out.

Well they may be less gritty but with luck they'll be less sh***y.

If you're going to be horrible being gritty, let's at least try to be good as a skilled team.

Yep.

Less truculence means less stupid penalties against.

If Detroit can get by just dandy without it, so can we, dammit.

Don't even care if we're decent this season. Never having to hear pesky Stars again will be enough. That and not having the Otter fan club in your ear every five seconds.

Joe had a plan (for forwards at least) and has accomplished it IMO. Signing Doan will be icing on the cake.

Well, Jagr and the other signings are certainly moves into the right direction in improving the PP. So much skill there. Lack of physicality is certainly an aspect that needs to be looked at closer but I bet Joe isn't done yet.

Yeah I have a real problem with these people that are screaming about "oh the Stars are no longer gritty, they aren't tough to play against. Other teams that have toughness will eat our top 6 alive"

how often did all of our tough guys and agitators eat up someone else's top 6? not very often.

And it's not like these guys are *******. They've all been in the league playing succesfully for years, I don't get all this *****ing about how this is supposedly a terrible thing.
