Torts wants more scoring.

I think Sather will add at least one, maybe two scoring forwards.

I most definitely agree, it'll either be Nash by himself to help fix the scoring issue. or it will be two other guys who can score 20+ who? no clue.

If the can straight out sign Semin or Doan it may be smart to keep the team as is. If they strike out on that I think they look to package Anisimov and Dubinsky in a big deal.

He's been mentioned, but I'd take Sykora. He won't ask for much. Probably around a million. Can definitely score 20. Helps the whole "Oh our third line's on the ice. Guess we're not scoring."

Plus it bumps Rupp/Asham out of having to play every game.

Semin isn't an awful option, depending on the price and the contract.

Nash could pot 40/70 in a blueshirt, but he comes with a steep price.

Sykora should be a worst case option. Upon exhausting all other options first.

I think that depends on how you interpreted what Tortorella said about scoring.

There isn't much left out there anyway.

You've got 3 legit top 6 guys in Parise, Semin and Doan (assuming Selanne resigns in Anaheim)

For middle 6 guys, you've got:

Sullivan, Wellwood, Sykora, Kostitsyn, Mueller.

For 3rd line guys you've got:

Langkow, Arnott, Hecht

"Aggressive" in free agency probably won't happen the way I think of being aggressive.

By the way, I think we trade for Nash too. I just don't see two roster forwards going the other way.

Lets sign Hagman 2 years 3m

Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Stepan-Callahan
Hagelin-Ansimov-Hagman
Pyatt-Boyle-Rupp/Asham/Haley

No trade for Nash or Ryan. I think this is a solid team. Just going to hurt us a little until Gaborik returns. Solid bottom 6 and top 6. No cap issues as well.

I think we do because i believe its a more than fair option for Howson and we can replace them with suitable players in free agency.

This looks good, but do you think Nash and Gaborik would both play on the 1st line? Would it be better to split them up? I know Kreider, Stepan, Callahan is a good line too, but i just think Gaborik and Nash on the 1st line might be overkill? Then again, Kreider-Stepan-Callahan line clicked.

Torts wants more depth and he insinuated that more defensive depth may be more important than acquiring a scorer:

They still need to shore up the D. I think the Rangers will start focusing on acquiring another defenseman once Suter signs.

I think we do to see Kreider, Stepan and McDonagh stay in blueshirts.

I dont post lineups or proposals too often because i dont know more than the GM or coaches do plus i hate thinking about dealing anyone off this roster.

Having said that, The USA line clicked. They should start together. And youre not going to put either nash or gabby on the 3rd line.

Staal, Girardi, Mcdonagh, Del Zotto, Bickel (7th guy) are all signed. I would assume from reports that Stralman will be back (or wants to at least), so that only leaves one spot for a Dman. Not to mention the likes of Erixon, Mcilrath coming soon.

Well, this is getting back to the whole summer argument.

We're talking about a drastic face lift to the team by removing 5 players (Dubinsky, Anisimov, Prust, Mitchell, Fedotenko) and bringing in 5 different ones (Nash, UFA, Pyatt, Asham, Haley/young player). It's a huge risk to put on a team that's biggest strength last season was it's chemistry. Is Sather really willing to do that? Is Tortorella? To this point, we've seen no indication that they are.

Yeah, Gaborik nor Nash will be on the 3rd line. Than again its Torts... and does he even make lines? I think he just throws people out there to play and see what happens sometimes.

Keep hearing Handzus may have lost a step but basically I am getting at a 2 for 1 deal

Clowe, Richards, Gaborik
Kreider, Stepan, Callahan
Hagelin, Langkow/Handzus, Pyatt
Rupp, Boyle, Asham
Pyatt isn't a 3rd liner... and we will run into the the same exact problems next May.

In 2 words - who cares? Youve seen how Torts operates? I'd be surprised if any 3-some stays together for more than 6 weeks at a time.

Just get him enough weapons and dont even worry about the line combos.
