Wow I did not realize their attendance was that weak - but to my first question, does Jagr influence this at all?

Does he even make incredible plays anymore?

They just need to keep adding pieces to fit with their new team identity.

Dwayne Roloson, Jason Arnott, Mike Knuble, Andrew Brunette... the pieces are still out there and waiting to be signed!

I read a post on here saying that after the Stars got the new owner, attendance went up. That would make sense. It was just really bad earlier in the year.

I would think Jagr helps with attendance. He's still a name, plus he can still put up some points. He's not Pittsburgh Jagr, but few are. The Stars have been fairly active this summer, with the new owner spending money, so they'll probably have some buzz going into the season. A couple teams in the west might take a step back, so the Stars could find themselves in the playoffs.

3.Kings
4.Blues
5.Wings
6.Sharks
7.NSH
8.AVS

That's my preseason playoff board. The AVS are going to make the playoff's

Plus Kings/Sharks round one sounds really cool.

I'd take Nashville out. Their roster doesn't look so hot and they have an unresolved Weber issue. Then if Detroit doesn't get Suter or Parise, they have to slide down (not sure about out) also. I think Dallas will make it.

Hawks in second, huh?

Are you assuming they are going to land Parise? Even then, I don't see them ending up that high.

Better question......how the hell are defending champs 3rd. When the team is intact and looking to add!

Kings won't be a dominant regular season team. They are built for the playoffs.

Pacific division title should be within their grasp, but not a presidents trophy. 3rd seed makes sense to me.

Still several high profile free agents and trades left to land somewhere. Go easy on the conference predictions until we actually know where Parise, Suter, Nash, etc. is playing.

No no no.....we saw this team begin to click the last 20 games or so of the season. No such thing imo in a team being different from reg. Season to playoffs. It's all momentum and timing.

I honestly think that this signing was to sell tickets. The AAC has been pretty empty these last few years. Luckily for us, we just buy nosebleed seats and then move on down. I still cannot imagine Jagr in a Dallas uniform, I can with Whitney weirdly.

I may be in the minority here, but I think Dallas got better.

Eriksson-Benn-Jagr
Whitney-Roy-Ryder
Eakin-Fiddler-Nystrom
Morrow-Wandell-Fraser

Goligoski-Larsen
Daley-Fistric
Robidas-Rome

Lehtonen
Bachman

They might be soft and their defense needs some improvement, but we shouldn't take them lightly.

That bottom 6 and defensive unit are AWFUL.

Not to mention if when the inevitable player gets hurt...you're looking at an extremely thin depth chart already.

I find it peculiar that there have been no reports of Zach Parise ruling out the Kings as one of his destinations. I'm not holding my breath on him coming here, but it is rather intriguing that the Kings have not been rejected yet by Parise and Newport Sports Management. Even though Kings management thinks him signing here is a long shot, it does appear that they're still in consideration.

Seriously...how delusional are Stars fans? Their board is generally ecstatic about the last two days.

Roy and Jagr makes your pants wet? Sorry Dallas fan(s) but that is ****ing sad.

They do this every year. Then they start off hot and they are all over NHL Talk talking about how the Stars are going to win the Pac, and then they go down the drain

I'm not saying that the lineup will click. Half of their top six have never played together. That could be a recipe for disaster. But I looked at the Coyotes last year and laughed, thinking they'd be dead last in the league. I don't want to underestimate a team like that again.

For what it's worth, I just pulled those lines from their board. Arrange them how you'd like, but that's pretty much their lineup until further notice.

Yeah nothing has ever been publicly said that they're offer is off table or they're out of the "running" however every article/tweet you name it always has the same teams excluding LA even though we've never heard anything official as to them not being considered or in mix..
