good signing! dude is big, and can pot some goals. these are types of bottom six moves we should be making. I like the character that is developing in the bottom six.

Love the signing.

SSM must be one happy guy right now, lol.

Great bottom 6 guy, big, we will see how it all works out.

I agree with a few other poster who believe that Miller has been made off limits in light of his development camp performance. I also believe the organization believes that Hagelin can be replaced internally in the coming years.
I don't see any linkage between Pyatt and Hagelin. I realize more than most here (having been a fan since the 1960s) that sooner or later younger players are going to be traded in order to fill in the holes needed to win a Stanley Cup, but the only tea leaf I read in this signing is that Fedotenko won't be re-signed. This signing doesn't lead Sather to hit the speed dail button and throw Hagelin into the mix for Nash. I have no doubt he's one of the players who's been on the table, but that was true regardless of whomever Sather signed to replace Fedotenko.

I like it, bottom line depth, a guy who can score and the price is a bargain.

Now get Mueller, let Hrivik/Miller/Yogan/Thomas fight it out for a 3rd line position, sign Strahlman, also sign a Brett Clark or some bargain DMan who can block shots, play minutes, provide depth, and go to war.

Until Gaborik comes back;

Hagelin-Richards-Cally
Kreider-Stepan-Mueller
Anisimov-Dubinsky-Hrivik/Miller/Yogan/Thomas
Rupp/Asham-Boyle-Pyatt

Girardi-McD
Staal-Strahlman
Del Z-Erixon/Clark

Ex. Bickel

Henrik
Biron

Haha. It's mob mentality to pick on a player. This year is Mitchell.

I am happy.

One step closer to putting the roster together and quality depth.

Still need two forwards: one top six and one bottom six.

And two defensemen. Hopefully one if them is Stralman.

Find value where other teams are not.

Not only that what i like about these two guys is there board work, we have been weak down low protecting pucks, maybe size was an issue, add these two guys who love to cycle that is tremendous come playoff time.

Anyway i like both addition a lot esp Pyatt he was pretty darn good in the playoffs this year and has always elevated during those periods. Id prefer to part ways with Rupp and Keep Feds but thats me.

I think one top line forward is all we need at this point. i.e Semin or Nash. Get either.

I really like Peter Mueller as that top 6 guy if Doan isn't available.

What's your thoughts on him. And on potential that bottom 6 guy?

really bad concussion history but i'd take the chance on him. deal shouldn't cost you much $$. if he refinds his game it adds some real nice depth

For those of you in the know..how's Pyatt's mobility? I remember him being decently mobile, not fast but not slow, but that was from years ago when he came up with the Islanders and Sabres.

Supersonic-What do you think of Brett Clark? I think he'd be a good value pick up. Can eat up minutes and blocks shots. Cap hit last year was 1.5 I give him 1.95.

I really think Hrivik makes the team. He's under the radar but one of those guys who just plays and plays well in whatever level he's at and just fits right in. He did fine in Hartford and fine in Development Camp. He's also a little older than a typical prospect. If he can score 15 goals, huge bonus.

Only IMO.

There's potential in Mueller. Hopefully they sign him cheaply.

For another bottom six guy, Fedotenko. If not then hopefully a guy like Yogan can earn a spot in camp.

Especially if we trade for Nash we will need more players, assuming a couple or more players will be subtracted from the roster.

Get him the Cascade M11 Helmet. Same thing with Sauer if he can come back.

Yeah. But I think Fedotenko is gone IMO. I would love for Yogan to step up in that role.

He caught lightning in a bottle in playoffs. Unsustainable shooting percentage. Not gritty, doesn't use his size, can't possess puck = useless player.

I think the Rangers will make a trade and dump Dubi ($4.2M) & maybe AA plus rookie & draft for Bobby Ryan($5.2M) & Def'man..

Just a thought and thats a better trade than getting Mr Columbus at ( $7.5M)..

Mind boggling how people believe stone hands Pyatt can replace a stud rookie like Hagelin. I'm gonna hate it when he's traded for Nash.

wtf r u watching he protects the puck very well when i watch and that means he uses his size. Ya he not very mean and doesent hit much but he protects the puck which means he possesses the puck.

Take away "can't possess puck" and add "can't score" and you have John Mitchell.

I don't know how you can argue Pyatt is less useful than Mitchell. AT THE ABSOLUTE WORST, he's just as "good."

He's better than Mitchell, dude.

Kershaw, quit defending Johnny "useless" Mitchell. Everyone knows he's horrible and that's cause he is, end of story.

Too bad Bickel was extended.

He better not be, Hagelin is a guy that should be untouchable, go sign Semin for free and leave Nash is that is what they want for him. Seriously its so typical to trade a player that adds so much to this team evident in the playoffs and all year. Hes an energy player that we should hang on to until he doesent add that no longer.

Im not comparing to Mitchell who i thought played fine during his time here and was the scape goat for no real reason, but pyatt is good signing we lack guys that can shield pucks and create offensive zone time and say what u want he and Asham both can do this. Prust was getting worse from when he first arrived so im fine to see him go, although he was great while he was here.
